(Here we are... the final installment... This could be a very long chapter so i hope you came prepared. Don't forget to hit the loop button on the video. I had so many dreams for stone castle... i had hoped to make a franchise but something came up... my fingers always create things that i myself am never really in the loop about. I have ideas but in the end i cannot control what i create.)
When Lucy made it to the bottom of the stairs she spotted her grandmother disappearing into the man cave. She rounded the corner and felt the harmony of the building change. She saw Matilda standing before a chest. Lucy knelt down before it and popped it open she did not see anything inside but she knew better. She used to do the same thing back in her dorm room with Kendall's letters. She popped open the fake bottom and removed a series of envelopes. Each one holding a different love letter but one had something inside that wasn't paper.
Slipping her fingers though the veil, she pulled out a ruby. That ruby was connected to a chain and she tucked it away in her pocket. She looked up to her grandmother who smiled down reaching to help her up. The sun was beginning to rise outside and she stood in the slowly fading shadow. Lucy hugged her and felt her fade away.
Just before the last bit of sun faded away Torrence appeared by the furnace. Lucy cried out as he pulled the lever breaking it off. The sun came and he vanished within it's light. Kendall came running down the stairs, Lucy grabbing his hand as well as holding onto the envelopes turning back to see Capernicus and Matilda clutching each other as the sun took them away.
A single envelope falling from her grasp. They reached the top floor to find that Santana had Zack and they were standing by the door a small half smile spreading across the two of them at the sight of their friends. They bolted for the door and slammed it shut behind them. As Lucy ran for the stables the others followed. They each saddled up on one of them apart from Zack. He looked around remembering that-
Daphnee came galloping through the trees a saddle strapped on her and she stopped right in front of Zack. He grinned widely and threw one leg over tightening his grip on her reins. The four of them bolted for the trees.
Sam stood in the window watching them trot away. He pressed his hand to the glass feeling a warm presence wrap his arms around the blonde boy. Sam turned to see Blaine and they smiled at each other. Blaine held up a bottle from the liquor cabinet and popped off the cork. He held it to Sam's lips and he drank blinking rapidly looking deeply into those Cocoa eyes.
Jo found herself in the upstairs bedroom twirling in one of Lucy's gowns. James appearing behind her in the door frame. She gasped when she saw him and he simply waved before disappearing all together. She ran out into the hallway, raced downstairs and into the ballroom. She made her way into the west wing. There she found Jessie, she was playing the piano so calmly and peacefully. "He's gone sweetie." She whispered. Eriq was standing beside the piano tilting his head back listening to the music.
Cody and Henry were sitting on the ground playing a game of cards. Cody laughed really hard and Henry leaned forward to kiss him. Jo sat down tucking her dress beneath her and sighing. Sam and Blaine walking in from the breezeway they shut the door behind them. It was quiet for a moment. Everyone was silent.
Santana was the only one who looked back watching as the main building exploded. The flames igniting in her eyes. She let out a long breath and gripped her horse tighter never looking away until all the smoke had faded and she saw that the west wing was still there. She smiled. the four horsemen came to a stop when they arrived at Cody's car. Carlos was asleep in the backseat. He had never left their side. Lucy climbed off her horse and tapped on the window.
Carlos woke up and popped the lock. She climbed into the passenger seat beside him as the others got off their horses and sat in silence on the rocks. "Hey..." She said smoothly. He looked at her with a deep sadness and responded with: "Hi..."
"I want you to know... Logan is not mad at you... He was happy you got away." She smiled taking his hand within her own. He shifted in his seat to completely face her. "I am so sorry..." He had tears streaming down his face."
"For what?" she asked. "Being smart... you knew something was wrong... you ran... no one is upset with you."
"where is Logan?" He asked. He adored Logan, the two of them were closer than anyone could imagine. It broke her heart to tell him. "He didn't make it." Carlos looked away from her, turning back to look at the steering wheel. He cranked the engine. "Full tank of gas... where to?" His question was lifeless.
She opened the door and stepped out. Santana climbed into the passenger seat and Zack rounded the horses. "I am taking them to Jo's next door." He said directly. "I'm keeping Daphnee i'll pay them if i have to." He climbed onto her back once more and took off with the leads in his hand guided them through the trees.
Kendall walked up behind Lucy. "What's in your hand?" He whispered into her ear. She turned to look into his eyes smiling at him. "Love letters... between Capernicus and Matilda... the truth saved them. Also..." she reached into her pocket. Slipping out the ruby he gasped. "A token of his love to her. He was a pirate... Granny used to tell me stories all the time about his adventures when i was little." Kendall gently removed it from her hand and she pulled back her hair. He wrapped the chain around her neck and clipped the ends together. They made her eyes light up like the night sky.
Cody stood up from his seated position on the floor. He walked over to the door of the breezeway and tugged at the piece of paper trapped underneath the wood of the door. He pulled it out and held it up. It was the envelope.
Dear Matilda,
It has been far too long on the seas without you. I came across a jewel that embarks a certain resemblance to you. I plan on giving it to you upon my return. I spoke with the moon, she said my love for you is what made the tide strong. I must tell you. If ever something should happen to me... This ship is yours. You may sail the world with me in your heart.
Perhaps one day we could sail the world together. I'd enjoy having a companion by my side every time i see the sunrise or watch a blood moon. The sea is lonesome as am i. One day our children will sail the sea in this boat. They will go to many places i have yet to go... There are parts of this world still yet discovered. The world lies when they say they know everything. How can one possibly know everything when i believe the world grows daily.
I love you Matilda... You are my light. It is time the stars guided me home. though it breaks my heart to know that we could never truly be together. Your family would never claim a pirate as one of their own.
Forever yours Capernicus.
Cody handed Jo the letter who snicker a little. She took it in her grasp and looked out the back window at the sea far beyond the trees. Out there, docked to the shore, was a glorious vessel. She pulled her phone from her pocket smirking. Jessie eyed her oddly wondering how it is she kept that on her. She is dead after all... right? Jo dialed a number and pressed the device to her ear. "I have one more call to make." she laughed.
