[observation]
Jeno woke up Sunday morning to an unusual smell filling the house. It smelt like burnt metal. Not pancakes. He walked downstairs and furrowed his brows at the state of his kitchen.
"Why is the toaster on fire?" He asked his father."Shit! Sorry sport I got distracted with Renjun." Jeno turned his head and looked at the robot boy. He 'smiled' at him and Jeno only scowled back. The 'boy' was sat at the table with nothing in front of him but a book. "Here have a cold poptart instead." His father tossed it at him while simultaneously staring at the smoking toaster. "I'm a fucking engineer and I can't even work a toaster." He mumbled.
"You'll get it next time dad." The black haired boy said before taking a bite out of his shitty pastry. Renjun looked at him and his eyes lit up before fading again. "Also, I forgot to ask this earlier but, why do his eyes light up? It really freaks me out."
"It shows that he's learning. If something new happens he'll look it up and learn what the internet has to provide about that topic."
"Is he like Siri?"
"I mean...I guess."
"Renjun," Jeno started "what's 36285 times 7352 to the third power?" Renjuns eyes glowed for about six seconds before he tilted his head.
"1.44192823+16? 3.9739e11? I tried several different c-c-calculators and I should've c-come up with the same answers right?"
"Fuck if I know."
"Language mister." His father chided.
"Right sorry." Jeno apologized and threw away his trash. Renjun watched as he walked.
"Your mother and I wanted to talk to you about something when she gets home. We think it's something you'll really love." Mr.Lee beamed at his son.
"Hopefully." Renjun tilted his head as Jeno walked back up to his room.
---+3hrs---
"Hey mister Lee?" Renjun walked into his office and stood in the doorway. Mr.Lee looked up and nodded at him to continue. "What is love?" Mr.Lee automatically started humming a tune. "I haven't found a definitive definition of it. It doesn't make sense at all. I'm not mad or sad. Maybe a mix between the too..."
"Smad." The oldest male mumbled.
"Frustrated! That's the word. I think? Who am I k-kidding I c-c-can't think."
"Hold up. You're getting way too ahead of yourself kid. You don't need to think about love. At least not right now. You're gonna meet someone that makes your conscious get all messy-well in your case your 'brain' that's really just an oddly shaped disk? Anyway, love isn't important right now. Just think about being a teenager. But don't break the rules because I'll get arrested for illegally making robots but no one needs to know about that right now. Now go hang out with my moody son." Renjun smiled and waved as he left the room.
------
"Hello Jeno." Renjun said to Jenos bedroom door.
"Go away."
"Your father wanted us to hang out."
"You sound like a step-parent trying to bond with their step-child."
"Hehe. That was funny."
"You're not real Renjun. Go away."
"I c-c-can't. There's a hierarc-chy and your mother's at the top. You're last."
"Learn how to pronounce your damn C's and K's."
"It's a bit diff- hard. I c-can't just avoid simple words bec-cause there's so many everyday words li-ke c-can't and bec-cause. I c-could avoid pronouncing it all together but then I'd sound stupid."
"Just replace them with a hard G."
"C-ould begomes good. Hey I gan say it! Thank you Jeno! You're the best!" Renjun knocked on the door and Jeno rolled his eyes.
"It's open." Renjun walked in and hugged Jeno. "Don't touch me." He pushed the other off of him and frowned.
"I thought people liked hugs?"
"A lot of them, including me, don't. What do you want?" Jeno whined and regretted telling it the door was unlocked.
"I told you that your father sent me to hang out with you."
"Well I'm telling you to go away." Renjun frowned and nodded.
"Alright. I'll leave you alone. Sorry for bothering you." He left and shut the door behind him. Jeno sat on his bed and sighed. He felt bad and he didn't mean to make him sad. The feeling of guilt was overshadowed by knowing that his feelings are artificial.
--+2hrs--
"Jeno! Renjun!" Jenos mother called them to the living room and had them sit. "So you know how school is coming up in two months right?" Jenos eyes went wide and he shook his head.
"No. No. You're not gonna do this to me. I will transfer to a different school this isn't okay! No!"
"You haven't even hea-"
"Because I know what you're gonna say and the answer is no and that I hate this idea!"
"Well it's not your decision now is it?" His father said. Jeno rolled his eyes, fuming. "Do not roll your eyes at me young man! We're not doing this for you."
"Both of you are being ridiculous. Jeno I've already enrolled him. He's not gonna bother you at all. He'll have his own classes and you probably won't see him too often. We're doing it for him. We just wanted to let you know that he would be in the same vicinity as you over the school year. Either get over it and accept it or be a baby about it and pout the entire time." His mother tried to diffuse the other two but in the end riled herself up.
"I hate-" Jeno started.
"Don't you dare." She put her hands on her hips. Jeno narrowed his eyes and left the room. Renjun flinched as he heard the door slam upstairs. "He'll come around eventually. Sorry about that."

(Also don't acknowledge me being lazy by 'fixing' Renjuns stutter with a hard G. k bye)
