[observation]
Mr.Lee had started living in the basement. He'd sleep there after working on Renjun all day. They never accounted for a battery malfunction. Water damage wasn't the issue. All of the wires were connected. His 'conscious' was fine and still intact. Everything was normal.
"What is wrong with you?" Mr.Lee took the husk by its shoulders and shook it. "Everything looks normal! Where is the issue?" He picked up the left arm and dropped it. He cringed at the sound it made as it hit the table. Over the week Mr.Lee had taken it apart limb by limb and reassembled it with care.
Nothing.
"Are we doing alright down here?" Mrs.Lee walked downstairs and handed her husband a water bottle.
"No! He won't fucking work." The stressed man gestured wildly.
"Maybe we have to put him away." She leaned against the wall and crossed her arms, her eyebrows gently furrowed.
"No! I've worked too hard on this to give up."
"Maybe it's time to give up."
"Honey, I love you and you're usually right but I refuse to give up on this."
"Alright. Just please don't overwork yourself?" Mrs. Lee put a hand on her husbands back. He nodded and got back to work.

Jaemin sat with Jeno in the living room as they worked on their homework. As of late, it felt like they were always doing homework. Jenos mind was a mush of emotions. Mainly stress and guilt.
"Jeno you did this one wrong." Jaemin pointed to a problem that only had scribbles in the workspace. Jeno glared at him.
"I don't care Jae."
"Your grade is suffering Jeno. You should care."
"If you care about my grade so much why don't you do it?"
"Because it's important for you to learn. If you never try you'll never learn." Jaemin sighed as Jeno crossed his arms.
"I don't want to learn. This won't benefit me in life at all. When will I ever need to find X?"
"Example: you're at the store and you need to buy at least six of item A and four of item B. Your budget is 76$. One of item B cost 3$. You have 10$ left over. How much is item A and how many extra can you buy?" Jaemin racked the internet for an example problem.
"That's a hypothetical." Jeno furrowed his eyebrows. He was starting to get annoyed.
"You could be in a situation like that one day."
"When will I- never mind. I'm going upstairs. Don't talk to me."
"You're mad because you started thinking about it!" Jaemin called up the stairs.
"Maybe so!" Jeno slammed his door.
