Chapter 24
Arelie's POV
Arelie woke up to a raging head ache that killed, at this point she wish she were dead, but instead . . . here she was, lying on a couch in an unknown place, not knowing how she got there.
"Ah, my love." A very familiar voice said. Arelie froze, then, suddenly everything came back to her.
There was the crunching of the leaves behind her, her blackout and now she was here. Her head was bandaged, and felt like a killer hangover. But the worst part was . . . seeing her father again.
"Where am I?" She demanded. Ben chuckled, he looked around and grinned.
"I thought it was obvious." Ben shrugged and didn't even bother looking at Arelie. Arelie thought all of this was crazy. She couldn't possibly be here, how the Hell did she get here?
"What do you want? Why can't you just leave me alone?" Arelie asked softly, and it almost sounded as if she were hopeless. But she had faith in Trystan - she had to. He would find her.
"You know exactly what I want, Arelie. I could never leave you alone. You're all I've got in this world." Ben frowned.
"Don't you get it?" Ben shook his head and sighed.
"Arelie," Ben used the father tone, as if trying to punish a baby, "I'm not arguing with you on this. I've made up my mind."
"Well so have I!" Elie protested. "I've got a life ahead of me! A future! You can't take that away from me!"
"Don't worry," Ben soothed, "You'll be able to keep your future. You'd just need to adjust it a little bit."
Ben smiled confidently, as if he knew he was going to win something. "Like I said before, Elie, I'm not that old."
"You're disgusting!" she spat. "I'm ashamed to call you my father."
"Oh . . . but sweetie . . . I'm not." Ben smirked, now he looked a lot more threatening and Arelie found she didn't like this side of him too well. She lost her love for her father at an early age, but now she despised him! He was sick, and vile! How could he think of his daughter in this way?
Oh god, Arelie thought, please let Trystan find me!
She didn't know if she could survive, staying with this lunatic! He was going to drive her mad! She'd end up killing herself, but she couldn't! She had to wait patiently for Trystan.
He would find her, she knew it!
With that thought in mind she tried to distract Ben from doing anything rash that might decrease the possibility of Trystan ever have of finding her?
"Where is Laura?" she whispered, afraid of the question.
Ben scowled, "Ugh. That skank! She deserved what she got."
"What did you do to her?" Arelie asked, in a horrifying whisper.
"She's dead. Like your mother. Both of them were horrible people, you have to see that Arelie, you have to understand it."
Arelie swallowed and looked away. She didn't want to pick a fight or get into anymore trouble than she has now! It wouldn't be worth it!
"Why did . . . why is she gone?" Arelie inquired, slowly. She couldn't believe this conversation. Ben had killed another person! Did he not feel anything? Was he so . . . careless? Insensitive? Arelie suppressed a shutter.
"Well, I got tired of her . . . she was in the way, all the time. She always complained that we'd get caught, and that we'd go to jail. She didn't appreciate everything I've done for her. I was sick of it! Sick of all her sh*t." Ben paused, as if entranced with the story he was telling.
