Chapter 11
Elie lay back against Tori’s bed, confused and shattered.
She had just met Trystan’s gang! And it was none other than Blood Lust!
Crap!
This was great; Trystan’s ‘surprise’ for her.
Surprise my ass! She thought cruelly.
How could Trystan do this to her? They were dating; they were so-called in love, for God’s sakes!
“Arelie?” Elie turned at the sound of her name being called. Tori was next to her on the bed, worried. Apparently, she was concerned about Elie and Trystan’s relationship. Elie had just barged into Victoria’s house and implored for Tori to let her stay with her for a while. Tori agreed immediately.
Elie hadn’t said anything to Victoria, with the exception of muttering Trystan’s name.
“Elie, you have to talk, you know.” Tori sighed. Elie shook her head and stayed in that position, on her bed, for a while. After a few minutes she turned to Tori and blurted everything. Everything from this morning and Trystan’s so-called ‘surprises’.
Tori’s eyes had widened when Elie told Tori about the BL situation. Elie had been shocked, of course, but Tori’s face was priceless.
“Fu . . .” she muttered lowly. Elie raised an eyebrow at her.
“I’m the one dating him!” Elie cried. “What am I going to do? How in the world am I going to be able to face him?”
A few minutes had gone by; Elie started getting worried that Tori might’ve gone into total shock. But then she spoke.
“It was obvious” she stated. Elie swung towards her, her face incredulous.
“What?!” Elie shouted, “Obvious? How?”
“There were rumors-”
“That’s what I thought them to be! Bloody rumors.” Elie cried.
“But think about it, Elie. Wasn’t it . . . a little, I don’t know, suspicious?” Tori asked.
Elie thought for a moment before answering her. “I guess.” Elie whispered.
“But . . .” Tori trailed expectantly.
“But I didn’t think it was real. I didn’t want it to be.” Elie admitted. Tori sighed again.
“Els, you know me. I’m not the touchy type. But I care for you! I do. I want you to be happy. Trystan was my best friend for a while, I wanted him to be happy too, and weirdly, I still do.” Tori paused, waiting for Elie to let this soak in. “But just . . . think, for a second. Think about Trystan . . . it might be hard on him, too. I mean, obviously he’s trying to be more . . . open with you.”
“But why would he tell me that? Why now?” Elie whispered.
“Maybe he didn’t want to hide it from you anymore. I don’t have all the answers to your questions, El” Tori said softly, “But I think one person might.”
Elie breathed in shakily. Trystan. He could answer her questions. She was scared. She didn’t want to face him after their fight. It would be too much. Suddenly her phone started vibrating.
Arelie looked down and stopped breathing altogether. It was Trystan, he was calling her.
No shit, Sherlock. She scowled.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Arelie? Oh thank God.” Trystan sighed with relief. “Where the Hell are you?” he asked.
“Tori’s.” Elie answered. “Trystan we need to talk.”
“I know. Look, I . . . I just need . . .” Trystan paused. “Can I pick you up?”
Elie glanced at Tori, who was nodding at her. Elie waited a few more moments.
Did she want to do this? Was she ready to face him . . . after, what? Forty five minutes? She had to. Trystan meant so much to her right now.
“Ok.” Elie nodded, assuring herself; this was right, this was what they both needed.
“Ok” he repeated, and then hung up.
