Epilogue - After Us
Trystan was outside, looking out into the ocean. It was almost sunset; the waves were crashing onto the shore loudly. It was a beautiful sight. Nothing would've made it better; the water reflected the orange-red color of the sky.
Trystan sighed; he stood there, taking everything in. Everything seemed calm and at peace, like how it would seem after a war or a struggle. The sand in between his toes was soft and warm; due to the warm water of Florida.
Suddenly he felt a hand slip through his. He smiled and looked down. This had been one of his happiness's that he took great pride in. "Arelie."
She looked up and gave a mischievous smile. That smile that he had loved ever since she came into his life.
"Where did you leave mommy?" Trystan asked; his eyebrow rose.
"I left her in the bathroom, daddy." Arelie answered.
"Did you tell her you were coming out?" He asked and she nodded.
"You know you shouldn't have left her, what would happen if you got lost?" Trystan asked, gently scolding his four year old daughter.
"But you were standing right outside the bathroom, daddy." Arelie retorted, Trystan grinned and turned back to the sea. He sighed.
It had been fourteen years since Arelie, his first love, died. He missed her like Hell. Those first four years that he went through without her was not his best, but somehow he managed to get through it.
He had isolated himself for those four years; mourning his lost. Kyle had sympathized with him for a while, his entire gang had mourned her death, but then after the second year Kyle got angry at him.
He argued that this was never what Arelie would want for him. Trystan hadn't argued with him because he knew Kyle was right. Arelie had even made him promised that he wouldn't be sad.
So that fourth year, Trystan snapped out of his state. He was miserable and looked miserable. Tori had been upset about Arelie's death and took a little longer to adjust to her death but soon enough Tori and Jas helped him out.
Then, three years later, he met Lydia. Lydia was working at a restaurant, a place where he had spent most of his time, just thinking. Lydia usually served him.
One day, Lydia had come to work and was crying. Her boyfriend had cheated on her and she had broken up with him the night before. Trystan was also in a sour mood because Tori and Jasmine and his entire gang had an argument and he had gotten kicked out of his own house.
He had snapped at Lydia and they both got into an argument, at that time Trystan didn't know what had happened to Lydia. When he did hear, he apologized to her, but Lydia didn't accept it, she only thanked him and told him that it helped her that day.
Ever since then Lydia and Trystan were inseparable. They had dated for three years and then he asked her to marry him, she accepted and then two months later Lydia got pregnant with Arelie.
Of course, Trystan had told Lydia everything about Arelie when they dated. Lydia had perfectly understood and had held him when he cried, she reminded him so much of Arelie, but yet she had her own personality, and that made it even better.
Lydia had readily agreed to name their daughter Arelie. She had been so understanding, that, Trystan was grateful that he had met her, she was a great woman, and he loved her.
But he knew that he could never love her as much as he did with Arelie, but he can try. Lydia is lovable, he loves her too.
His daughter had been his joy ever since she was born. Lydia and Trystan both found joy in their creation they made together. Arelie was a blessing.
"Arelie Danielle Levi!" Lydia's voice came out from behind them. Arelie's eyes widened and she clung to Trystan's leg and whimpered.
"Don't let her hurt me, daddy." Trystan grinned and pulled his daughter into his arms. Lydia glared at Trystan.
"You allowed her to do this, didn't you?" Lydia accused, Trystan only smiled and happily nodded. "Oh God, both of you will be the end of me." Trystan smiled and kissed Lydia lightly.
"No, we won't." Trystan promised. His wife glowed with her sixth month of pregnancy. His son was growing inside of her, and Trystan felt his pride grow.
"I love you." Lydia smiled, Trystan kissed her again.
"I love you, too." Trystan cradled his daughter to his arms and kissed her forehead.
He finally did what Arelie had asked him. He felt his sadness come again as he gazed at the sea. He missed her, missed her red hair, her cinnamon scent, her smile and laughter.
"I finally did it, Els," Trystan smiled, it was no longer in sadness but happiness, he was happy with his wife and daughter, Arelie would be happy for him.
Trystan gathered his wife close in his arms, as his daughter snuggled to him. They watched as the waves crashed onto the shore and he smiled. He could now finally and fully let Arelie go, like she wanted.
"I'm home, my love." He whispered.
