Matthew 9:24 (ESV)
he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping." And they laughed at him.
I close my eyes. Afraid of what to come. I know what is going to happen. And I don't want it. The icy wind carries me into the air, towards the castle of Jadis.
When I arrive, a wall made of ice is around the castle. So she is afraid? The wind is getting less stronger and I sink lower towards the ice floor. Jadis is waiting for me, together with her ugly malformed servants. 'My daughter!' She beams and smiles at me. I can see that she is honest. So she doesn't know I have my memories back?
Great!
'Tell me!' She insists when my feet hit the floor. I sink down on my knees and take a deep breath. Try to be kind, to be gentle.
I am after all the gentle queen, but I hate her. So much. She is still smiling and she lays her cold hands on my shoulder. Her eyes flicker for a short moment and then it hits me.
She knows!
It goes fast. Her hands fly up to my neck and I hear a nauseating sound. Snap. My neck hurt and my eyes close naturally. I can't scream...
White shores, gulls screeching and I lie on a sandbank and behind it is a wall made out of water. Aslans country is behind those walls, Lucy told me once. I get up and straighten my dress. 'Child' a sound of thunder, but also like the first day of spring.
Aslan is here!
I turn around and rush towards the Great Lion. He stands before the wall and he looks sad. When I reach him, I burry my head in his golden mane. He chuckles slightly. 'Susan' His voice thunders in my ears. 'I have failed you. Your faith was fading away' I look up and see the pain and guilt in his eyes. Again I hug him and Aslan falls on the sand, me on top of him. I begin to laugh and Aslan joins me. 'Susan' He says after a while. 'Why do you say you have failed me? I am here right. I am in Narnia!' His eyes sadden again. 'Oh child. Do you not know why you are here?'
My neck was hurting....Jadis her hands around my neck.
'I am dead!' I gulped.
Strange, I am not sad. More angry. Hate rises inside of me, a fire is spreading through my body. I can feel it consuming me.
'Susan!' Aslans voice thunders through the air. I tremble. 'Do not let the hate she planted inside of you consume you. You are stronger than that!' He stands up and takes me with him. Now I am standing before him and at a sudden the Lion looks larger. He looks angry. 'Listen' He thunders. 'You are my daughter and you shall live again. I have failed you once. But not anymore, I promise you' His voice becomes soft and he smiles. 'I never fail child. The trials you have faced were because of her. She is the evil in person and I shall end her. But when I bring you back, remember there are more trials to overcome. But nog alone Susan' I can feel the tears streaming down my face. I try to smile at him. So everything that happened, was because she was in charge? 'But father' I stutter. 'You are the one who never fails, you were killed but you lived again. You have already defeated her!' Aslan touches my forehead with his nose. I can feel his warm breath on my skin.
I feel safe and secure.
'Yes Susan. But I am also the son of the emperor beyond the seas. He who has the power over Narnia. I only obey him' Aslan replies. Oh.
'Do not worry my dear child. Because in the end everything shall be right again' And with a roar we say goodbye.
I wake up by the screams of the Narnian soldiers. They scream my name, some in fear and others in happy voices. Soon I feel two warm hands around me and they turn me around. Caspian takes me in his arms and smiles sadly. 'Susan' Is all he says before I faint again.
This time I wake up in my own bed, surrounded with my family. 'Susan!' Lucy cheers and throws her arms around my neck. A flash of pain makes me groan and Lucy immediately lets me go. Everyone looks shocked. 'Su?' Peter stands next to the bed and checks my neck. I see his eyes grow wide. He turns his back on me and beckons the other boys. They also have a look and both of them turn pale. 'Su' stammers Ed. 'Caspian found you, lying unconscious in front of the gate of Cair Paravel. Do you know how you ended up by the gate?' I nod sadly and look my brothers in the eye. 'Jadis killed me, she broke my neck' The whole room falls silent and I see sadness and anger burn in their eyes. Caspian takes my right hand and Lucy my left. Lucy is crying and I smile at her, trying to make it right again. 'I was dead yes. When I opened my eyes I was on the sandbank in front of Aslans country. And also the Great Lion was there' I take a deep breath and I let also my tears fall. 'He called me by my name. He told me that he was taking me back to you. But we have to face trails before we have peace'
'So we fight?' Caspian asks. He looks at the boys who he calls his brothers and they both nod their heads. 'yes' Peter replies. 'We fight!'
And so we shall fight. My sibling leave to make everything and everyone ready. Except Caspian, he of course, stays. 'You know' He speaks. 'When you were taken yesterday, we had agreed that you and I were sleeping together in the same bed. Nothing more' He grins.
What he wants, he can get.
'Oh, really' I mock him and he laughs. 'Yes, you have' He kicks his shoes of and crawls on the bed next to me. His hands sneak up around my waist and he hold me close. 'My queen' He whispers in my ear and I feel that I am becoming red. 'Caspian!' I warn him, but again he laughs. We cover ourselves with the blankest and I cuddle against his warm chest. He hold me close and I close my eyes.
Wait. What time is it?
'Cas'
'Yes my love' He whispers back. 'What time is it exactly?' He chuckles. 'around eight in the evening'
'So are you tired yet?'
'No'
'So why are you lying in bed with me?'
'Because I want to' He says boldly and he brings my head up so he can kiss me. His lips wrap around mine and at first it is sweet. But the kiss becomes more heated and I pull back. Breathing heavy. I lock eyes with him and it is like I can see his soul. Warm and passionate. Brave and above all a true king.
I love him.
'I love you' I mutter and his eyes widen I shock. 'W-what did you-' I interrupt him with a kiss. He kisses me back, more desperate this time. This time he pulls back and takes my head in both of his hands. 'Susan' He whispers. 'I love you to. More than you shall ever know' If it was possible, my heart was beating out of my chest. But instead I pull him closer and kiss him.
We kiss for a while, but when you were dead takes a lot of your energy. So I cuddle against him and close my eyes.
I am save, I am loved.
