(SEASON 5 SPOILERS)
ENSIS POV:
It felt like it had been days. The burning of my skin from the radiation left me weak. Weaker than I'd ever been in my life. Letting a heavy breath escape my lips I struggled to my feet as I was covered in black blood but I felt two strong arms grip my shoulders pulling me up, I turned seeing Rigel. Of course, he was well, he hadn't been sick a day in his lips. And yet here I was struggling to keep myself standing on a daily basis. As I stood leaning against Rigel, my eyes set on Clarke who was lying on the ground unconscious. "Ma fig'ison sta kig'ron." (I think she's alive.) Rigel muttered coldly not one to help the Skaikru but. I sighed knowing it was going to be a long five years with Rigel. I moved to steady myself making my way over to Clarke, kneeling down placing my hands on her pulling her up.
"Oso gafen woda." (We need water.) I ordered my eyes worriedly looking down at Clarke's marred face. It hadn't even been a complete day without Bellatrix and I already found myself selfishly wishing I'd never parted with her. I wished I could feel her soft skin against my rough hand and hold her in my arms. He knew the day they began preaching of another Pramfiya that he'd have to be willing to lose Bellatrix for her safety. Feeling Rigel shove the water towards me, I gripped the water and placed it on the ground tilting Clarke's mouth open and I slowly poured the water into her mouth feeling for a pulse which I found. I then leaned against the wall with Clarke's head on my lap beside Rigel.
"Du laik Skaikru, du laik Wanheda." (She is Skaikru, she is the commander of death.) Rigel growled with distrust. "Ai nou wich em op." (I don't trust her.) I sighed leaning my head against the wall looking up at the roof, we'd been caved in it was going to take a lot of work to make our way out and I wouldn't leave Clarke behind.
"Did you trust Bellatrix?" I asked softly looking over at Rigel who paused momentarily, it wasn't an idiot, I saw the way Rigel looked at her. Flirty eyes, kind smiles, he'd never been so kind towards anyone a day in his life.
"Sha" (Yes) Rigel bitterly replied narrowing his eyes as he watched me.
"Bellatrix cares deeply for her people, for her friends, we must look after Clarke. She'll be broken after she's been left with nothing. We've got no one else but each other. Be patient and be as kind as possible. To be a leader, you have to be understanding, you have to care for those under your care and decide and make choices based on the best possible outcome for them. And Clarke will need to be handled with gentle care." I shared my wisdom with Rigel who nodded slowly as Clarke began to stir, I moved helping her sit brushing her hair behind her boil ridden face. I kept my eyes steady watching as she looked around tears threatening to escape her eyes.
"Ensis?" She asked softly and I quickly pulled her close to me smoothing down her hair knowing the need for comfort was something many Skaikru people shared. I'd lived without it most of my life, save for a few people I considered my brothers.
