ENSIS POV:

I was in a kneeling position between Rigel and Clarke, we had set a trap for the others capturing one of their men putting a blade in his chest. The whole plan made my stomach churn, I wanted to be better than this but apparently in six years Clarke had only begun to lean more to her heart than her head. "Clarke we shouldn't be exposing Madi to this. We need to keep her safe." I demanded but Clarke just shrugged me off as people began to file out of the forest. I didn't agree with Clarke's method. It was wrong and she knew it.

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you were getting soft old-timer

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you were getting soft old-timer." Rigel teasingly spoke, his hand slapping on my back as he kept close to Madi making sure to protect her from any harm.

"Clarke, Ensis is right, this isn't right." Madi sternly shared.

"Madi, this is our home, your home." Clarke reminded Madi.

"And they want to take it from us?" Madi asked.

"That's called jumping to conclusions it's what gets people killed. We just need to talk with them. Try and come to some sort of agreement." I shared my views but I knew it wasn't a popular one, it never had been even before I'd come across the Skai people. I was always too devoted to peace, Lexa said I would make a great commander if I was willing to do what needed to be done but I didn't believe in blood, I hadn't for years.

"They won't want to talk." Clarke bit back keeping her eye trained on the telescope attached to the rifle. I shared a look with Madi giving her a comforting smile. Clarke then pulled the trigger and I assumed she killed someone as they all ducked out of sight in the distance. "Get down." Clarke shouted and Rigel dove jumping over Madi protecting her I quickly pulled Clarke out of the way grunting in pain as I felt something dive into my skin cutting me open and it seems as if Clarke had suffered the same. I pulled myself up pulling Clarke along with me as Rigel and Madi were already running towards the woods, Clarke and I followed closely behind.

"We need to get her somewhere safe. Come on." I ordered leading them away with me. I drew in a heavy breath as they followed me through the ridges as we went off track. I wasn't especially fit, not like I used to be when I could control my illness. I hadn't realised I'd last this long but my body was deteriorating at a painfully slow rate, it wouldn't be long before I'd be dead anyway, for some reason or another death saw me as it's own personal plaything.

BELLATRIX POV:

We all sat in the shuttle, I was sitting beside Murphy as I looked at the picture of the ship with a frown. I had a bad gut feeling to this but I'd swallow my superstition for now because I wanted to be on the ground. "Boys and girls meet Euligus four." Raven commented.

"Powering a better tomorrow." Emori added.

"Sounds like a mining company." I shared my thoughts leaning forward.
