ENSIS POV:
I watched as Octavia was strapped in and pulled up to the opening in the roof of the bunker. I tilted my head back, watching as she was taken up to the ground. The people around us chanted, watching her, growing louder, like the fanatics they were. Once we'd all made our way back up to the ground, I smiled looking around as I looked around seeing Kali standing there, her eyes closed as she stood in the sun.
"You missed it?" I asked, with a small smile.
"I miss the freedom." She shared, turning to me.
I glanced around the camp, I couldn't believe how much everyone had changed, how much Kali and Octavia had changed. Stalking the streets, I felt a presence behind me and I quickly turned seeing Ryder standing there laughing at my stunned face. "I take it you didn't realise this was what you'd be welcomed back to?" Ryder asked not blinded by the truth floating right in front of me. "She's kind of hot, you know in a scary way." Ryder shrugged glancing over at Octavia, I furrowed my brows. "So is that kripa girl."
"Kripa means demon, she earned it through blood and battle." I informed Ryder who nodded.
"And Blodreina?"
"The Red Queen."
"I like it. So, we got a demon, a death soldier, a red queen, anyone else I should know about?" Ryder asked curiously.
"Clarke is Wanheda, commander of death and..." I trailed off my eyes trailing to the ground. Any sign of weakness wasn't respected with these people and Ryder, as I'd come to realise fed off of fear and weakness. "Bellatrix is Wanlida, bringer of death."
"Bellatrix? Sounds sexy." Ryder's brown eyes observed me before laughing. "She's your lover. I knew you had one."
"It's been so long; many things have probably changed between us." I confessed the unsettling truth, I didn't know how she felt about me.
"Un-fucking-likely." Ryder grumbled before his eyes landed on McCreary with a small smirk. It was the kind of smirk that didn't mean anything good. It was the kind that revelled in chaos and enjoyed the lives taken from this world. Maybe Kali had a point, maybe I was just out of touch with the world. I turned seeing Miller make his way up to us glancing down at Ryder with a distrustful glance, his lips tugged into a frown. "You're cute." Ryder observed his intrusive brown eyes not bothering to hide his interest. "Love the get-up. You know back in my day we used to have movies where people dressed like you."
"I don't care." Miller deadpanned coldly folding his arms. I saw Ryder stand up towering over Miller with a sadistic smirk.
"Sounds rude." Ryder drawled out. "Shouldn't you be trailing after your red queen like a lost puppy? Do you enjoy that leash?" Ryder tauntingly asked and I frowned seeing Miller clench his jaw gripping his sword.
"Say that again and" Miller was quickly cut off by Ryder.
"And you'll what? Aside from having an I.Q levels above yours I'm also so much fucking more dangerous. You'd do well to stay out of my way, even Diyoza is smart enough to." Ryder drawled out with a satisfied smirk seeing Miller start on him, I quickly jumped up pushing Miller away from him looking over at Ryder. I didn't know the first thing about Ryder, all I knew was that he seemed different. I got the gut feeling that I could trust him.
"Ryder, back down." I called out commandingly and Ryder shrugged taking a drag of his almost forgotten cigarette and he turned walking away from us. "Miller, what can I do for you?" I asked him politely.
"Octavia wants to talk with you." Miller informed me and he walked me to the small building Octavia was in. I walked forward meeting her deadly gaze, her eyes landed on me and she dismissed everyone as I stalked forward. As far as I knew, from the small amount of time I spent in here, around these people, a lot of people were scared, I had people looking to me with something similar to desperate hope. I had a lot of influence over these people. The time of the commanders had passed Kali had told me. But I knew a few people didn't believe that.
