Chapter Forty
                              Game
After dropping off Syn I immediately called Bria to tell her about the good things that just happened.
"This better be good Game. I got an important phone call on the other line and you know I don't put business on hold and Gia is doing fine," she answered.
"She said yes," I said. Then there was a silence making me look at my screen just to be sure that she didn't hang up. "Hello?"
"Wait what? She said yes for real?"
"Yeah. She told me she was pregnant and it just added the sprinkles to the ca—"
                              "Woah woah, she's pregnant?"
                              "Yeah."
"You know there if a fifty percent chance that this child could be Zeno's right?" she asked and I scoffed at the thought of Zeno.
Even the fact that Syn went over to Zeno's asking for help made me even more upset thinking about it. I knew she was just trying to help but the things happened between me and my brother was to be solved between me and my brother. Believe it or not, I loved my brother and didn't want all of this bad blood in between us like the last time. I promised myself that I was going to patch this shit up but if there was one thing I wasn't going to change was leaving Syn. I didn't put a ring on her finger because she was pregnant; I put it there because I love her. I knew that she was the one who made everything normal in my life. I knew that Zeno could be the father and if he was I was going to respect it one hundred percent. There was going to be no type of heat if that was his child.
"Yeah I know. A nigga aint mad though. Who you on the phone with?"
"So due to some connections I came across some old head name Spades who used to sling around the city used to be affiliated with Xavion," I pressed the phone on speaker and sat it on my lap, "Word was that every Thursday him and some other pins would meet up at this bar and play Spades and I just got you a space in the game," she said excitedly. My face turned puzzled as I pulled into the parking lot of Miami Dade courthouse.
"You must remember that Xavion don't fuck with me Bria."
"Xavion doesn't throw these card games, Spades does. I just pulled the correct strings, Game,"
As I parked I saw my lawyer standing at the door.
"I'll call you back in a few minutes. I'm at the courthouse."
"Hopefully the judge don't have you sitting there going through some dumb shit like the last time."
                              "Hope not."
"Alright baby boy." I hung up and got out the car and walked over to my lawyer Torrez who stood at the door sifting through his phone. Torrez was a biracial genius who I hired a few years back when Gia was born. This dude been pulling through ever since day one from temporary child custody and non supervised visitation and child support.
I walked over to him as I towered over his short five foot five frame. He looked up at me with them damn blue eyes.
"Look Game I got good news and bad news." I threw my head back already knowing that this was going to be some real bullshit.
"Fuck!" I mumbled under my breath. "Wassup man good first and bad second."
"Well the judge granted you full custody of Gia," I smiled from ear to ear already happy that I finally got something right. "But DCF is keeping an eye on you. They are gonna be at your house Thursday morning at  seven AM to see what you go through on a day to day basis with Gia. If all goes well that day then they will be off your back for the next few months."
"How's Teresa and her mother doing?" I asked and he scrolled through his phone.
"Teresa...she ended up getting killed in the Pork and Beans," I shook my head already knowing that this was going to be a tough situation to tell Gia. Knowing that her mother most likely lost her life to a dime bag. "As for her mother, the court admitted her into a nursing home under Teresa's older brother Xavion Williamson," I looked at Torrez.
The name rang the loudest bell but I wasn't going to act on it just yet.
"Who?" I asked and he flashed his IPhone at me showing the picture of Xavion in court dressed sharp as fuck and everything turned black.
"Shit! SHIT!" I yelled as people passed by staring at me as if I was crazy.
"Xavion Williamson, why does he have a different last name?"
"Different father but Xavion did provide that home for their mother and the lawyers. They were close to her having custody of Gia but with the evidence of sleeping pills and crack in Gia's system they couldn't." I wiped my face.
"So he's the reason DCF gonna be on my ass?"
Typical fucking Xavion, thinking that DCF was going to find some drug related shit in my house but he was wrong. I saw his plan. He was trying to pull me down through my own daughter but he had another fucking thing coming for him.
