It was the next day, and our homeroom class was about to receive our entrance exam results. Most of our class was chill about getting the results since we were already reassured we got over 90%, but I was still nervous.
We recieved our marks.
I got 199/200. Which is 99.9%. And of course, my seatmate happened to score perfect.
"Aw, only 0.1% behind me. That's too bad." Jungkook teased.
"Calm yourself, this was only the entrance exam. These marks don't matter anyway." I sassed back.
"Go ahead, keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better"
I mentally promised myself to score perfect on the next evaluation just to wipe that smirk off Jungkook's face.
I got up from my seat with the rest of the class and made my way to back of room to the shelves that contained our science textbooks. I looked to see that all the textbooks were already taken, except the ones on the top shelf. I'm short, how the hell am I supposed to reach one? I sighed. looks like I'll have to pull off some monkey skills to reach one. I stood on my tippy toes, reaching my hand upwards. I could probably reach it with a jump. Just as I felt like I was about to pull a muscle, I felt a presence behind me. I stiffened as the heat of another body pressed against me from the back.
"Need help?" a voice whispered in my ear. A shiver ran down my spine, recognizing the voice. A hand reached over mine, grabbing the textbook off the shelf. I turned around to see Jungkook, textbook in hand. Jungkook wanted to help my short self? really?
"That's too bad, because you're not getting any"
I knew it was too good to be true.He turned around, taking the textbook for himself and walked back to his desk.I looked at the shelves, ready to grab another.
"Here, take this"
I looked to see Taehyung, one of Jungkook's friends, offering his textbook. Based on the limited time I have known him, he actually seemed nice.
"Thank you!" I looked at him in awe.
"No problem" He gave me small smile.
I sat back at my desk, already feeling annoyed being in Jungkook's presence.
"Why do you have to be such a jerk? You're so frustrating you make me want to take Mrs. Song's slime covered pointy probe and stick it in my eye."
Jungkook laughed, eyes crinkling, revealing his bunny teeth. Kinda cute. Too bad he's an asshole.
As Mrs. Song was teaching her lesson, I was trying my best to concentrate. There was an annoying tapping I could hear in my right ear. I turned to see Jungkook, looking ahead while his hand was drumming his pencil on his desk. He seemed to be zoning out, head bopping to a song playing in his own head. I tapped his shoulder, getting his attention.
"Can you stop? I can't concentrate." I pointed to his pencil.
He rolled his eyes and continued. I endured about a minute more until I finally gave up and grabbed the pencil out of his hand.
"Yah! give it back!" Jungkook raised his voice.
"Stop making annoying noises with it and I will!" I countered.
He reached over my side for his pencil. We ended up having a mini tug-of-war battle until Mrs. Song noticed us.
"Calypso, Jungkook? I'd hate to interupt your lover's quarrel, but I'm teaching a class here, and I would appreciate if you wouldn't disrupt me"
The class snickered."I apologize" I grumbled, feeling embarrassed. I threw the pencil back to Jungkook, who looked smug.

"So we'll meet on Saturday at 2:00, and I'll help you with everything!" Jennie said to me as we walked through the hallway after school. I am finally moving on Saturday into an apartment close by where most students that attend this school live. Since she happens to live 2 floors beneath me, she is going to help me settle in and decorate.
"Ok, thanks! See you tomorrow!" I waved, as Jennie and I parted ways.
I walked through the school courtyard towards the bus stop. I already felt motion sick just thinking about the ride. A crowd was gathered near the exit of the school, right where I needed to go.
What's going on? Why are there so many people here?
I looked over the crowd to see Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook standing in the centre. I wasn't surprised to notice that the crowd was all girls. I guess this is the popular kids' afternoon flirting session or something.
I made my way through, pushing passed the fangirls. Can't they all go somewhere else?
I was about to congratulate myself on making it through safely until suddenly my weight shifted forward as my legs tripped over someone's foot. I braced myself for the impact of the hard cement. Except the impact didn't come. Instead, I felt someone's hand around my waist, catching me before I could splatter into a pancake on the cement.
My heart was caught in my chest, confused as to why I hadn't hit the ground. Strong hands steadied me, then pivoted my body towards my savoiur."Falling for me already?"Jungkook asked with a smirk.
"I didn't fall, you dickhead, I fucking tripped" I said as I slapped his hands away from my waist.
I looked around to see all the girls' attention on me and him. Most were looking at me with shock yet envy, as if they wanted to be the one about to smash their face on the ground.I walked off campus, but not before I heard a girl's voice squeak
"Oh my god, Mei! You could have been in serious trouble if she actually hurt herself!" I recognized that voice to be Jade's from my class.
"Who cares, Jade. She tripped on my foot by "accident" right?" Mei replied.
They both laughed.
