My cheeks were on fire, burning red at Jungkook's comment. I met his fiery gaze and immediately looked away. Jungkook chuckled at my flustered reaction.

Damn you, hormones. I should be used to comments like this from Jungkook at this point honestly.

Why won't this lock open? I twisted my key even harder, hoping my door would unlock in this crucial moment that I need to escape.

"So? Will you accept my proposition?"

I could practically hear the amusement in his voice as he continued to wait for my answer.

'Um-I-don't think..." I stammered trying to form a coherent sentence. The key clicked into its correct place and the lock turned, unlocking the door. I quickly opened it and slammed it behind me, escaping the conversation.

I exhaled deeply as I leaned my back against my closed door, blocking out Jungkook and his seductive comments. Trying to calm the heat spreading through my cheeks, I closed my eyes. Yet all I could picture was Jungkook and his signature smirk. Why am I feeling this way?

How come every time he says something slightly provocative he send me into a blushing mess?

My phone buzzed and I saw a message from Jennie.

Jennie

Don't forget about the double date! It's right after our practice.

Shit. I completely forgot about that.

"Don't worry Calypso. You still have a few hours. You'll figure something out." I said out loud to myself.

--

"Kiss him! Just do it!" Jennie insisted.

I leaned forward, trying to connect my lips with Jungkook's. When our lips were inches apart,  I recoiled back. This cycle of actions has been going on for quite a while, yet I've made no progress.

"Fine. One more time from the top of the scene." Jennie sighed.

I sighed too. Here we are, rehearsing the last scene, aka the scene where my character confesses my love for Jungkook. I mean Jungkook's character. And I can't even bring myself to kiss him.

"All along, I knew it was you." I said, staring in Jungkook's deep brown eyes.

I swear he rolled his eyes at my acting for a split second.

He stepped forward and as choreographed in the script, he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in closer. I tilted my head up and leaned forward. Our lips drew closer. Out of the corner of me eye I could see Jennie silently cheering me on and Taehyung observing. Just as our lips were about to touch, I slipped my thumb on his lips. Jungkook and I were now kissing my thumb instead.

"For the love of god, Calypso! Just kiss him!" Jennie cried.

Jungkook pulled back in disappointment. He ran a hand through his hair, ruffling his auburn locks.

"I can't! It's like an instinct!" I defended myself. I crossed my arms and looked down in embarrassment. Why couldn't I just go through it? Tomorrow during the performance I for sure won't have a choice. I'm delaying the inevitable.

"I think this is the first time you've been rejected this hard, Kook" Taehyung mused. He sat reclined on my couch, sporting a Gucci sweater.

"Calypso, you realize you're only making it harder for yourself? You could just get it over with now." Jungkook said, stating the obvious.

"I know. Listen, during the performance I won't back away. I promise." I said sincerely.

I stuck out my pinky, ready to make a pinky promise.

"So childish" He muttered under his breath as he shook his head. But as he reached out his hand to link our pinkies, I could see a ghost of a smile on his face.

The promise was made, my fate was officially sealed.

"Now that that's settled, you ready to go for the double date?" Taehyung's voice pierced.

I let go of Jungkook's pinky and turned to face Taehyung.

"Yeah, totally." I lied. I felt a bead of nervous sweat drip my back. "Let me just grab something from my room real quick. " I stammered as I escaped the living room.

I closed the door of my bedroom behind me.

I had to figure something out for the sake of Jennie's giant crush on Taehyung.

I pulled on a grey hoodie from my closet and combed my hair.

I entered back into the living room.

"Ready to go? Where are we meeting your date?" Taehyung cocked his head to the side, waiting to find out who the unlucky boy I have to drag along with me is.

I glanced at Jungkook, who was kneeled on the ground occupied with tying his shoe lace.

"No need to meet him." I said.

Taehyung and Jennie stared at me in confusion. Then I saw Jennie's lips curl up in a smirk.  She realized what I was about to do.

"He's right here." I walked up to Jungkook and pulled him up.

He looked down at me with confusion. I stared daggers into his eyes, trying to communicate for him to shut up and go along with it.

He defiantly stared back at me until he realized what I was doing. The "date" I was unwilling to mention to him during class wasn't anyone because he didn't exist. Until now. Now he took the form of Jeon Jungkook.

I could see his facial expression transform from confused to smug. His doe eyes were dancing with amusement.

"Let's get going then, hm?" Jungkook smirked.

Taehyung's jaw dropped shock.

"You're her date?" He asked in disbelief. "I thought...I thought that.. nevermind" he muttered.

"Well then, let's go!" Jennie said.

I've been lacking inspiration lately. This chapter took me about 2 weeks to write and it's pretty short. I feel like it's hard to get a the flow of writing when you're unmotivated. Does anyone have any book recommendations that might help inspire me?
