We spent the past 10 minutes scrubbing the desks in silence, neither of us bothering to say anything. I didn't want to talk to him, and I was hoping he'd just ignore me the whole time. I looked up from the desk I was scrubbing and locked eyes with Jungkook.  He broke our eye contact, and stared at his desk for a couple seconds. He seemed to internally debate something in his mind as he began to walk towards me. I turned my back to him, hoping he wouldn't bother me.

"Calypso..." Jungkook breathed out. I tried to ignore him. He grabbed my wrist, putting my attention back on him.

"I'm-" he looked a bit pained "I'm sorry" he blurted out.

I was momentarily surprised.

"Woah, did I just get an apology from the almighty Jeon Jungkook?" I said sarcastically. Jungkook almost rolled his eyes.

"I should have listened to you, ok? I feel bad about what I said" He continued.
I looked down at his hand, which was still gripping my wrist.

I raised an eyebrow,  "Are you planning on holding my hand forever?"

He looked at our hands and quickly let go. I swear I saw a hint of a blush on his face. In a second it turned back into his snarky smile as he ran his hand through his hair.

"So do you forgive me?" He said with a wink. I took a moment to cringe.

"I guess so." I tried to sound nonchalant, but on the inside I felt as though a weight had been lifted. I enjoyed the moment until the guilt of what I said to him hit me.

"I...I also want to apologize too" I said quietly.

Jungkook was caught off guard, probably not expecting an apology from me. He turned his head to the side, intent on listening to what I was about to say.

"I shouldn't  have called you a playboy or brought up that rumour. To be honest I really don't know you well enough to judge." I could see his eyes light up at my apology. I realized that my remarks were probably affecting him as much as what he said affected me.
Jungkook stayed silent for a moment, his face becoming serious again. My eyes searched his face, trying to read his expression.

"So for that, I'm sorry." I finally said.

"What did you say?" Jungkook suppressed a smile. "I didn't quite hear you."

"I'm S-O-R-R-Y" I spelled out for him. Jungkook grinned, eyes crinkling as he burst into a contagious laughter which soon spread to me.

"I forgive you. It's not like I've been giving you the best impression of me since we've met." Jungkook said sheepishly  as he scratched the back of his head. "I'm not a bad guy, and there's more to that rumour than you know" He moved to my desk and helped me finish scraping off a drawing of a shark. We spent the next hour chatting here and there. It was a great break from insulting each other like we used to.

Mrs.Kang walked into the classroom and inspected the desks.

"Alright, good job. You are free to go."

Jungkook and I exited the front doors of the school. Honestly, detention wasn't as bad as I anticipated. There were times when I even slightly enjoyed Jungkook's company.
Jungkook let out a satisfied sigh as a breeze blew in our direction.

"The weather is nice today. I don't feel like going home." He pouted.

My stomach growled, making a loud noise that got Jungkook's attention.

"You skipped lunch today, didn't you?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I didn't feel like eating.." I said, slightly embarrassed.
