I shifted on Jungkook's wooden chair, stirring whipped cream into my hot chocolate. In the past 20 minutes, I had taken another bath, was wrapped in another blanket and was seated by the heater drinking hot chocolate.
Clinks of cups were heard from the kitchen as Jungkook made himself a cup of tea. He picked up his mug and pulled up a chair, so that he was facing me me. He raised his eyebrow as he took a long sip."How is it?"
"Huh?" I snapped out of my daze.
"The hot chocolate. I haven't made it since I moved out from my parents house "
"Oh, that. It's great" I spooned some whipped cream into my mouth. I shivered slightly.
"Do you want another blanket? Should I turn the heat on higher?" Jungkook said, voice laced with concern.
"It's ok. I feel much better, I'll be fine in a couple of minutes." I said, not wanting to make him do anything else for me. Although I've been inside for some time, My body still hasn't fully recovered from the cold I was exposed to. This whole evening so far has been the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me. In addition, I was sitting in Jungkook's classic white shirt and a pair of black boxers since my clothes were soaking wet and freezing. Normally, I wouldn't be caught dead looking the way I am now, however given the circumstances, I don't have much of a choice.
We sat in silence for a couple of minutes until Jungkook snarked "It's kinda funny that we're matching"
I realized we were both in a white shirt, and he was wearing a pair of black shorts.
I closed my eyes and sighed."Is something wrong?"
I was silent for a couple of seconds. Obvoiusly there was something wrong.
"I'm mad that I let myself get in such a horrible situation. If you weren't at home, I would have died. Now I feel indebted to you, and I have no idea how I can ever repay you."
"Cal, relax." He breathed out. " I admit that you were pretty stupid for not realizing that your balcony was on autolock...." He trailed on.
I sent him a death stare."Cal? Is that my new nickname or something?"
"Hey, it's cute" he took a sip of his tea nonchalantly, " and as for being indebted to me... I'll think of an idea of how you can repay me" he looked up whimsically.
"I don't get how you're so chill right now, I'm still freaking out on the inside" I sighed.
Jungkook's smile faded, a serious expression overtook his face. he shifted forward in his seat, coming closer to me. His body was so close our noses were almost touching. His dark eyes bore into mine so intensely I swear the room darkened and the temperature dropped a few degrees.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not chill. I'm surprised you've managed to live on your own this long without injuring yourself." His voice low and raspy.
I froze, shocked by his sudden change in attitude. My mouth opened, trying to find some words to say in response.
"Uh... I'm surprised you care that much" I stuttered.
He snapped out of his phase. "Of course I care, Cal. We're friends, aren't we?"
—Hot water hit my skin as I washed my mug in the kitchen sink. I turned to Jungkook, who was leaning on the counter beside me, drinking his tea.
"Are you done?" I pointed at the tea he was finshing up. He nodded as he drank the last few drops.
I reached out and took his mug, starting to wash it."Cal, go rest. I'll wash it" He frowned as he saw my fragile form at his sink, continuing to wash the mugs.
"It's ok, It's the least I can do" I mumbled.
Suddenly Jungkook stepped behind me. His arm wrapped around my form, closing his hand on the mug that I was currently holding.
"I'll wash it" He insisted.
I pivoted my head, and inwardly gasped as I saw his face right by mine.
We both stayed put, not daring to move, our faces only an inch apart. I could see every feature, every detail of his face. The gentle curves of his nose, his smooth skin, soft doe eyes.
His eyes watched mine as they roamed his face. The distance between us was now practically non existent. Without looking away from my face, he took the mug out of my hand and placed it on the sink, freeing me from my awkward position. He took a step forward, making me take a step back. I felt the counter hit my back. He put his arms on the both sides of me on the counter, closing me in. My heart began to beat out of control. His face, painted with a rosy hue came closer to mine. His eyes flicker down, looking at my lips. His lips were inviting, I felt myself drawn to them. All common sense was thrown out the window. Right now, all that mattered was him and I. My lips ached for his, but my brain protested.
Calypso, you can't. It's your first kiss.
I pulled away. Jungkook's face fell. His eyes searched my face for a hint of an explanation
" I- I have to go" I quickly stuttered while looking at my feet. I shuffled out of the kitchen.
"Wait!"
I grabbed the spare key to my apartment that Jungkook got for me from his father's office and made my way towards the door. I pulled out the door, and looked back for a second. I saw a disheveled Jungkook, looking confused. I ran out, the door slamming behind me.
