We stepped out of Taehyung's expensive car and headed towards the restaurant where our double date will take place.
"It's chilly." Jennie noted as an icy gust of wind blew in our direction. She was wearing a light jacket that was no doubt barely keeping her warm.
"Hmm, if only she had a warmer jacket..." I trailed off, eyeing Taehyung.
Your girl's gotta do her best as Jennie's wing woman.
Taehyung's gaze caught mine, and he scoffed slightly as he understood my hint. He took off his gucci jacket and wrapped it around Jennie's shoulders.
"Success" I whispered under my breath.
I heard a light chuckle from my side. Jungkook had been observing amusedly.
Suddenly he stared at me for a few seconds as if he was contemplating something. His eyes then took on a determined gaze.
"What's up?" I asked.
Instead of a response, he took my hand into his, fingers interlocking with mine. I stuttered in surprise as the heat of his hand bore into mine, spreading butterflies into my stomach.
He pulled me back, making Taehyung and Jennie walk as a couple in front of us. Now their focus could be solely on eachother.
"I'm rooting for their relationship too, you know" He said as he pointed at the couple in front of us with his free hand. I tried to calm the redness spreading onto my cheeks. "Taehyung hasn't been with a good girl in a while."
"It's good to know you see that Jennie IS a great girl." I said, trying to distract myself from the butterflies in my stomach.
We watched Jennie and Taehyung engage in a conversation, making me smile in victory.
As we reached the restaurant, I realized we had been holding hands this whole time. I suddenly felt even more self-conscious.
"Table for four, please."Jennie asked the waiter.
We were lead to our table and took our seats. Jennie and I sat beside each other, facing Taehyung and Jungkook.
"Hi there, what would you like to drink?" A waitress came around to our table. She leaned slightly forward, puffing out her chest in her low cut top and batting her eyelashes pathetically towards the incredibly attractive men we were sitting with. I could see Jennie shift uncomfortably in her seat, sending a subtle glare at the waitress.
The waitress payed no attention to Jennie as she kept her sole focus on the boys, focusing in on Jungkook. I wonder how often he gets girls drooling over him.
"Just water" Jungkook answered, a bit dryly. The waitress stepped back with clear disappointment, obviously not receiving the reaction she expected. She nodded and walked out of sight.
The four of us sat in awkward silence, neither of us knowing what to say.
"So, Calypso. Why did you come to Korea?" Taehyung finally said.
I looked up to meet Taehyung's curoius gaze.
"For school" I said shortly.
"Have you ever had a boyfriend?"
My eyes widened with surprise at his question, not expecting it at all. Why in the world is he interested in knowing that?
I looked at Jennie, sensing that she felt uncomfortable. Her date seemed to be more interested in me than her.
"I don't see how that's relevant," I quickly said, "Jennie, what are you going to order?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
"I'm not sure" she replied timidly.
