Calypso POV

The sound of a loud bass woke me up. It pounded through my head, making me feel as if I had a hammer hitting my brain and eardrums. I realized that it was my neighbor blasting and screaming some song at the top of his lungs. I rolled onto my side, groaning as I checked my phone for the time. My eyes watered from looking at the screen as I saw that it was already noon. Since I came home super late yesterday, I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open.  I would have slept in even more if it wasn't for the music blasting from next door. I stood up, feeling a bit unsteady on my feet.  I wrapped my blanket around me and left my apartment.

I banged on Jungkook's door, and heard the music die down. The door opened slowly, a revealing a disheveled Jungkook in his white shirt and baggy sweatpants. His hair was slightly messy and uncombed. I would have thought that he just woke up if I hadn't known he was blasting music at top volume. He took a second to scan my presence. His lips curved into a small smile.

"Hey there, sleeping beauty" He laughed slightly, his eyes trained on my bed hair.

I knew I looked like trash since I literally woke up a minute ago. I wish I could say that he didn't look any better, but then I'd be lying.

"Turn your music down, I can't sleep" I said sleepily. He crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head to the side.

"No" He replied.

"No?" I imitated him. "What do you mean No?"  I tapped my foot impatiently.

"You shouldn't be sleeping at this time of day anyway. It's your own fault you came home at 3:47am." He asserted.

I looked at him curiously. I never told him when I came home, and he was strangely accurate.

"How do you know that? Were you waiting for me?" I inquired. He hesitated for a moment.

"Lucky guess" He shrugged, looking down at my bunny slippers.

"Just turn your music down or I'll break you along with your speakers" I threatened.

Jungkook raised his eyebrow, "Woah, feisty. I wouldn't mind that"

I rolled my eyes and slammed his door shut. I entered my room and jumped onto my bed, cocooned in my blanket. His loud music continued to play for 30 seconds until it finally turned off. I sighed deeply and drifted off into sleep.

The rest of my day was uneventful, mostly due to the fact that I woke up at 4:00pm. I was undisturbed by my neighbour, other than the occasional sounds that signalled life next door.

I stepped out of my bathroom, feeling a sense of relaxation from my long bath. I changed into my pair of pink pyjamas. My friend bought them for me back in Canada.

They were a bit extra and revealing but I didn't care since nobody was going to see me in them anyways

They were a bit extra and revealing but I didn't care since nobody was going to see me in them anyways. I nearly slipped on a puddle of water that accumulated on my bedroom floor from my wet hair. I cursed, and started to search for a mop until I remembered that I put it on my balcony.

The cold autumn air hit my skin as I stepped onto my balcony, making me shiver. The glass door shut behind me as I began to search for the mop. Finally locating it, I grabbed it and hastily walked back towards the balcony door, eager to get inside the warmth of my apartment. I reached out for the handle, and froze. I couldn't remember whether the balcony door was on auto-lock or not. My hand lingered an inch from the door handle, delaying me finding out the truth.  I grabbed the handle and pulled, only to find that the door didn't budge. I was overcome with a feeling of panic.

What if I was stuck out here forever?

I would probably die from the cold. As if mother nature could read my mind, snowflakes started to fall, landing on my wet hair and skin. It was the first snow this year, and happened to start at the worst moment possible. I had only been out here for 2 minutes but I was already starting to feel numb. I didn't have my phone with me, so I couldn't call for help. I walked to the edge of the balcony and saw the light emitting from Jungkook's window. I realized that he was my only hope for getting out of here safely. The only other option I could think of was jumping off my balcony and climbing to the ground like spiderman. I stood staring at his window, waiting for another magical solution to show up since I was trying to avoid asking Jungkook for help. Jungkook was sitting in front of his TV in headphones with a game controller in his hand. He seemed to be screaming into his mic, so I'm guessing there was some intense gameplay going on. After about 5 minutes of contemplating what I should do, I snapped back to my senses and realized I had to act fast or I would freeze to death. I leaned my body on the side of my balcony and started waving in his direction, hoping that he would notice me. He was so distracted he didn't even glance in my direction. I grabbed my mop and banged the tip of it against his window. My gentle tap soon turned into an aggressive jab as I felt myself become colder and colder. Finally he noticed something and looked my way. His eyes widened as he saw my shivering figure holding a mop to his window. He threw off his headphones and ran to the window, opening it.

"What are you doing!? It's like minus 20 degrees celsius outside, get back inside!" He looked at me as if I was a crazy person.

"I can't, I'm locked out" I mumbled, feeling my lips go numb. He walked out onto his balcony which was a meter away from mine on his side. He came to the edge and got a full view of me. His eyes were filled with worry as he saw my snow covered figure. After a couple of seconds he noticed my attire and looked away. He quickly composed himself and said " I'll think of something" and started searching his balcony for something that could help him.

"It's funny that I'm always getting locked in places" I laughed to myself. I dropped the mop onto the balcony floor and leaned against the wall, closing my eyes. It was hard to think, all I could focus on was the sensation of freezing to death. I could hear Jungkook curse under his breath, and the rustle of him moving around his balcony.

"Calypso. Grab on." I heard his voice near me.

I slowly opened my eyes, and saw that he had connected our balconies with a wooden board, creating a bridge. It reminded me of a pirate ship plank except that instead of water, there was a 10 floor drop onto hard cement. I staggered up and reached toward the board. Jungkook leaned dangerously far over his balcony and grabbed my hand to help me climb onto it.

"Shit, your hands are cold as ice" he muttered as he pulled my onto the board.

As I balanced on the plank, I looked down to see the lights form the cars in the traffic below. If I made one wrong move, I would fall and it would all be over for me. That thought was starting to make me panic, so I looked ahead instead. My eyes met Jungkook's gaze instead. He nodded his head reassuringly. I inched my way down the plank towards his balcony. Once I was close enough, he grabbed me by the waist and pulled me over into his side. I collapsed in his arms shivering. I immediately felt a bit better as I felt warmth spread over to me. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around him, getting closer to the heat he was emitting. He froze, shocked by the contact of my body. His hands hovering behind my back for a second before placing them around me, returning my embrace.  I took a deep breath. Jungkook smelled like vanilla, my favourite scent. He tried to balance me on my feet and stand me up, but my legs buckled beneath me as soon as he let go.

"Ah, please don't kill me after this" Jungkook muttered. He scooped up my legs and held me in his arms bridal style. He entered into his apartment from his balcony,  the heat hitting me like a truck. A pleasant and soft truck. My brain was hazy, but one thing I could comprehend is that in that moment, as I felt a sense of warmth from both the room and Jungkook engulf me, I felt nice.

Finally wrote another chapter. I thought I would have a lot of free time during the summer but I got a job so I'm even more busy LOL
