The sun at which we were both staring at had started to set. I didn't even realize how fast time had passed, It was already 8 o'clock.

"It's getting dark, we should go home. I can walk you there" Jungkook said, staring at the sun that would soon disappear. He looked god-like in the light of the sunset.

"Ok" I replied without thinking. "I mean, it's ok, I can go home by myself. No need to walk me there. I'm a strong girl, I can go by myself" I stammered nervously as I tried to cover up my mistake. I jokingly flexed my arm.

Jungkook narrowed his eyes, "You're acting weird. Just let me walk you there, it's not a big deal"

How am I supposed to get out of this?

"Uh, I actually take the bus. You can walk me to the bus stop." I lied. I forced a smile and stood up from the bench.

The walk to the bus was awkward, probably because I was trying to find a way to quickly end every conversation he would try to start. I was busy planning my next move, and how to get home undetected. Ugh, this is going to be a long night.

Once we arrived, I thanked him for walking me.

"I can wait for the bus with you. It's dangerous for you to be alone in the dark now" The light of the nearby street lamps reflected off his eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine. You can go." I gave him a goodbye wave.

"My mother would kill me if she found out I left a girl alone in the dark, I can wait" he said with a laugh.

Even though I was annoyed by his persistance, I was impressed by how gentlemanlike he was acting. This boy continues to surprise me more and more.

He waited with me until the bus came. I waved him goodbye and entered the bus.

I sat down and watched his figure get smaller and smaller as the bus drove away into the night.

After that evening, my school days surprisingly became less miserable because I was not constantly fighting with Jungkook. It was as if an unsaid respect was placed between us, perhaps a truce. But I still found myself avoiding him as his neighbour,  I am still not ready for that confrontation.

"Calypso!" Jennie came running towards the lunch table Mira and I were seated at.

"I have great news!" Jennie said eagerly.

"What is it?" I replied.

Jennie took a seat across from me and Mira, then took a deep breath.

"I spoke to Mrs. Kang after class, and I got her to put me in a group with Taehyung for the upcoming project" she squealed.

"I'm so happy for you, Jennie! This will be your chance to talk to him!" Mira cheered.

"I also managed to put you in our group too!" Jennie said to me. "Sorry Mira, there wasn't anymore space in the group, and since Calypso is new I wanted her to feel welcome" she added, slightly guilty.

"I'm excited!" I gasped. Now the drama project that is worth 20% of our mark would actually be fun. Jennie looked down and fidgeted with the strap of her backpack, clearly wanting to say something else.

"Although there is one more thing, the fourth member of our group is Jungkook. He requested to be put with Taehyung too. I hope you don't mind, I just really wanted to be in a group both with Taehyung and you" She said feebishley.

"Actually , I don't mind. Jungkook and I are kinda friends now" I said indifferently. I took a bite of my apple.

"What!?" Mira and Jennie exclaimed at the same time.
