RILEY'S POV
I went to the skate park with my best friend, Ally, to watch her brother, Jack, skate. We casually talked, then she elbowed me with a grin."What?" I laughed.
"I spy with my little eye... A hot guy watching you." She grinned.
"Where?"
I followed her gaze and immediately glared when I saw Donovan watching us.
"You know him?" Ally asked.
"He's nobody important."
"That's a yes."
I sighed, then told her the story and her jaw dropped.
"So... That is your future husband? Like... Literally?" She asked, dumbfounded.
"Yup." I sighed.
"What about Noah?"
"I don't know..."
"Honestly... That guy is an improvement from Noah."
"You don't even know him."
"But Noah's a piece of shit and doesn't even act like a boyfriend. This dude is taller and way hotter. Plus... You're engaged now, so you'll have to dump Noah anyway."
"I know but-"
"Nope, you're dumping Noah." She insisted.
"I don't know how to, I-"
"Hey, Riley."
I looked up and saw Donovan standing in front of me with a smile, so I just gave him a dirty look.
"Hello." Ally greeted.
"Hi."
"Ally." She introduced as she extended her hand.
"Donovan." He introduced as he shook her hand.
"Sit, sit." She smiled.
Of course, he sat next to me, but instead of saying something obnoxious as usual, he awkwardly looked down at the ground.
"Alright, I'm just gonna say it. You two are engaged, but Riley has a boyfriend and hates you. So, what's the plan?" She bluntly asked.
"Completely unnecessary." I said.
"It's not."
"I don't know..." Donovan said.
DONOVAN'S POV
Ally basically counseled us, but I couldn't help but feel like crap since Riley didn't say anything."I just think that Riley's being dramatic." I said.
"You took my virginity, acted like I never existed after that, and now you expect me to happily marry you?"
"Don't all girls wanna marry their first?" I smirked.
"Don't be a dick." Ally warned.
"He can't help it." Riley bit.
"Wow... You two have a lot to work out."
"Obviously." I sighed.
"Why did you drag me into this anyway?" Riley questioned.
"I didn't... My mother has this fear that I'm never gonna get married-"
"Big surprise." She sarcastically replied.
"Riley, let him finish." Ally scolded.
"Thanks. Like I was saying, if I do marry, she thinks I won't find a decent girl and when she met Riley, she had this brilliant idea and convinced my father that it'd be great. I didn't even know it was Riley that I'm engaged to until she was at my house." I admitted.
"Bullshit." Riley said as she rolled her eyes.
I was about to defend myself, but Ally gave me a look that said otherwise so I just looked ahead and shut my mouth. A few minutes later, my buddy, Jack, came over and sat next to Ally as he took a drink of water.
"You two know each other?" I suspiciously asked.
"Oh, right, you never met them. Donovan, this is my sister, Ally, and her best friend, Riley." Jack introduced.
"We've met." Ally said.
"How?"
"Long story." Riley and I answered.
