RILEY'S POV
Today is the dreaded day: prom.Ally and her family came over so that we could get ready together and although I didn't want to go, I was slightly excited to show Donovan off. Plus, I was dying for after prom. After we finished getting ready, Ethan and Jack insisted on walking us downstairs for the pictures and I blushed when Donovan's jaw dropped. We laughed in almost all of the pictures and Quintin insisted on a picture with me, then we got into the limo and drove over to prom. We talked a lot and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be since Donovan and Quintin kept us laughing, then I noticed some girls checking Donovan out, so I pulled him into a kiss, them looked at the girls and smirked.
"Someone's possessive." Donovan chuckled.
"What's mine is mine." I smiled.
He kissed me again, then later on, I noticed Noah staring at me.
"I'm all yours, Baby." Donovan said.
My heart fluttered from the way he looked at me, so I giggled, then kissed him again. We danced for a bit, then before I knew it, prom was over and we went to a club for after prom. After partying, we drove up to Donovan's lake house and found that Jack and Ethan had gotten there before us.
"Hey!" I greeted as I hugged both of them.
"Had fun?" Jack asked.
"After prom was lit." Ally and I said.
We went to our rooms to change into comfortable clothes, so I threw on basketball shorts and a T-shirt. We played music as we ate, then Quintin suggested that we watched movies. We settled on A Haunted House, both 1 and 2, and it was hilarious. After the movies, Donovan wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Can we go outside and talk?" He whispered.
"Sure."
We got up and told everyone that we'd be back, then walked around in silence.
"You're nervous about something." I pointed out as I looked at him.
"How'd you-"
"When you're nervous, you clench your jaw repeatedly."
"I'm sorry for overreacting again that night." He said.
"I know."
"No, you don't. I don't fucking trust Wes at all. I've never cheated on you, Riley. I care about you too much to do that to you."
"What are you saying?"
"I don't know how to describe how I feel, but I really care about you, Riley."
"I care about you too. I'm sorry, Donovan." I said as I hugged him.
He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head.
"Are we good now?" He asked.
Even though I couldn't see his face, I knew that he was smiling.
"Yeah, we're good."
"Babe?"
"Hm?"
"Do I really clench my jaw when I'm nervous?"
"Yup and when you're worried." I giggled.
"How'd you pick up on that? I didn't even know that."
"I pay attention."
"You look around a lot when you're nervous and furrow your brows a bit when you're worried."
"Ho-"
"You're not the only one who pays attention."
I smiled, then we went back inside and we all decided to make snacks, so Ally and I made slutty brownies.
