RILEY'S POV
"Riley... you okay?"I looked up at my boyfriend, Noah, and he seemed worried.
"Yeah, sorry, just got lost in my thoughts."
"Wanna talk about it?"
"Not really."
Running into Donovan really bothered me because he's the last person I wanted to see, but I decided to just brush it off.
"Alright, you're gonna be a bummer today. I'll just take you home." He sighed.
"Thanks."
The car ride to my house was quiet and we quickly kissed before I went into my house.
"I thought you were out with Noah." My brother, Ethan, greeted.
"My mind's somewhere else."
"So... He just took you home?"
"You know we don't communicate well." I sighed.
"And you know I don't like him."
I didn't bother arguing with him since he was right, I did know that he didn't like Noah. Noah and I have our good moments, but mostly... We have trouble communicating and don't really consider each other's feelings. Other than that, it's a pretty decent relationship, we feel that giving each other space is what kept it going for these past four months, plus neither of us are looking to get serious.
"So, have you noticed that Mom and Dad have been acting a little weird lately?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah, but they said that there's some huge business proposal that they have to deal with."
"You think they're selling the company?"
"I doubt, plus they don't actually own it."
Our parents worked high up in some company, but we never took too much interest in it, but we knew that it involved celebrities since we've met a number of them.
"Maybe they're selling you." He laughed.
"Wouldn't you like that?" I laughed.
"Nah, I'd miss you too much."
I stuck my tongue out at him, then we talked some more before our parents walked in.
"Hey." We greeted.
"Good, you're home." Mom smiled.
"We're having dinner with some clients tonight. Do you wanna stay?" Dad asked.
Ethan and I looked at each other, then shook our heads.
"Not really." Ethan answered.
"That's fine, just be here long enough to say hello, then you can leave." Mom added.
"Awesome." I smiled.
We decided to go to a house party that one of Ethan's friends was throwing tonight and got ready for it. We heard the doorbell as we were finishing up, then after getting ready, we headed downstairs to greet the guests before leaving.
"These are the kids." Dad introduced.
"Hello." We greeted.
"Beautiful kids, Daniel." The man smiled.
They both hugged us, but the woman took some time to look me over.
"She's absolutely stunning, Rose."
"Thank you." I blushed.
After some small talk, Ethan and I left and laughed about what happened in the car before pulling up at the party.
"That was...weird." I said.
"Tell me about it." Ethan agreed.
