RILEY'S POV
After getting home from school, I went for a dip in the pool after finishing my homework and waited for Ethan to get home. Ethan's 2 years older than me and is a business major, so when I go to college, I'll do the same. Plus, I'm going to the same college as him, so it's convenient.

"Riley, you home?" My mother called.

"Out here!" I called as I lazily floated on the pool bed.

"Donovan's here." She told me as she walked out with him.

I waved her off and when she went inside I turned to him.

"Don't even bother." I warned him.

DONOVAN'S POV
I sat on one of the pool chairs and glanced at her through my sunglasses since she was in a bikini.

"Nice body." I smirked.

"Shut up!"

"Did your parents tell you?"

"Tell me what?" She asked as she sat up.

"I'm taking you upstate for the weekend."

"No you're not." She insisted.

"Too bad, I am."

"Can't you just leave me alone?"

"Well... We're kind of engaged." I chuckled.

"Don't remind me."

"Why'd your brother throw your boyfriend through that table?"

"He's not my boyfriend."

"What happened?"

"Long story."

"I've got time." I said as I got up and sat by the edge of the pool.

"Why are you so persistent?" She asked as she peered at me.

"I don't know."

"I caught him kissing another girl."

"Well, that's not a long story."

"I lied about it being long."

"What a prick."

"Coming from you, that's a joke." She laughed.

"Okay, I deserved that."

"Glad you finally realized it."

I couldn't think of a comeback, so I quietly sat there.

"Riley, I'm ho- Hey, Donovan." Ethan greeted in shock as he walked out.

"Hey."

"Save me." Riley said.

RILEY'S POV
I walked out of school, ready to go home with Ally since my car was home because Ethan drove me to school, but was shocked when I found Donovan waiting.

"What the fuck?" I whispered.

"Go with him." She encouraged.

"Hell no."

"Noah's walking over here. I suggest you take advantage of the situation and go with Donovan."

"I hate when you have a point."

"Love you too."

We hugged and I walked over to Donovan and glared at him.

"What are you doing here?" I demanded.

"I came to pick you up."

"Why?"

"Why not?"

"Riley!" I heard Noah call.

"Okay, fine. I'll go with you." I said as I got in the car.

"What made you change your mind Ms. Stubborn?" He laughed as he got in the car as well.

"Nothing."

I looked out the window the entire ride to my house, then got out without saying goodbye.

"Ethan?" I called.

I sighed when he didn't respond and went to the kitchen for a snack.
