RILEY'S POV
"Have fun." Ethan laughed.

"I hate you." I said as I rolled my eyes.

I finished packing, then my father walked into my room and told me that Donovan was here. Once he left, I gave Ethan a pleading look.

"He's taking you to a ski lodge for the weekend. Make the best of it." Ethan encouraged.

"Fine." I sighed.

Donovan walked in and without saying a word, took my bags and walked out. I made a face at him and Ethan laughed, then we joined them outside.

"Have fun." My mother smiled.

"We will." I said with a fake smile.

"Call me when you get there." My father added.

"Oh, there's no cellphone service, so we'll call from the cabin phone."

"Sounds great." Ethan chuckled, knowing that I was internally screaming.

I hugged my family before getting in the car.

"Let's just make the best of this." Donovan said before turning on the radio.

I leaned the chair back as far as it could go, then closed my eyes and sang along to the radio.

"I didn't know you could sing." Donovan said.

"That's because this is the first time you've ever heard me sing."

"Do you always have a comeback?" He laughed.

"I try to." I smirked.

A while later, he pulled up at a gas station and offered to buy me something.

"I'm good..." I suspiciously declined.

He headed inside and when he got back to the car, he tossed me a can of Pringles.

"You're welcome."

"Thanks."

He filled up the tank and got back in before continuing the drive and eventually I felt tired.

DONOVAN'S POV
Riley was quiet and stopped singing, so when I pulled up at a red light, I glanced over at her and found her fast asleep. I laughed a bit since she seemed so much nicer when she was asleep, then tried to figure out how I would make this weekend a good one. About an hour later, she woke up and stretched, then sat up immediately.

"I love this song!" She yelled.

"Same." I laughed.

"Ew, no. We can't have a similar taste in music." She frowned.

"Well, we do. Deal with it."

"Whatever."

We ended up singing along to the songs on the radio and it turned out that we really did have a similar taste in music.

"Are we almost there?" She asked.

"About an hour left."

"Why are you taking me so far?" She whined.

"So no one can hear you scream." I joked.

When I glanced at her, she stared at me with wide eyes full of terror.

"I'm joking."

"Didn't seem so."

"I wouldn't kill you." I laughed.

"I wouldn't put it passed you."

"Why the fuck would I kill you?"

"I don't know."

"That's because I won't."

She sucked her teeth and looked away, then I just shook my head.

"We're here." I told Riley as I woke her up.

"Finally." She yawned.

She stayed in the car while I checked us in and when I got back, she was frowning at her phone.

"I told you so." I smirked.

RILEY'S POV
He drove us up to the cabin, it actually had a garage, and he actually took my bags for me as I toured the cabin. I was glad to find two bedrooms and two bathrooms, but still didn't want to spend a weekend alone with him. I found the cabin phone and called my family to tell them that we arrived and they were glad and wished a great weekend. I had to hold back my laughter.

"There's nothing to do here." I complained to Donovan after I hung up.

"Well then get creative or go to sleep."

"Why did you even bring me here?"

"My mother told me to!"

"I'm not surprised. Ugh, why'd she have to pick me?"

"Can you just shut up?"

"No! I got stuck in this stupid engagement without a fucking say in it! I finally got my life together, I was over the whole 'hit it and quit it' that you pulled, I have a boyfriend, and got accepted into college. Now, I have to marry you after I turn twenty one."

"You think I wanted an arranged marriage? You think I didn't want to go out and meet girls? You think I wanted to be engaged to a whiny bitch like you?" He yelled.

His words actually hurt and I teared up a bit so I walked to my room.

"Fuck you." I said before slamming, then locking the door.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on my door, but I didn't answer.

"Riley, I'm sorry."

"No you're not."

"I am. Open up... Please?"

"Go away!"

"Riley! Open the door!" He yelled as he banged on the door.

From how hard he was banging, I was scared that he'd break the door down. I took a deep breath and walked to the door and when I opened it, I swear his face went from full of rage to full of a horrified realization.

"I'm sorry." He repeated, over and over again.

He had pleading eyes and seemed desperate, in a child-like sense, for me to forgive him.

"Fine, whatever." I sighed.

"Thank you." He whispered as he pulled me into a hug.

I was surprised at this sudden change of character, but awkwardly returned the hug.

"I-I'll make it up to you. I'll make breakfast."

"Okay, Donovan."
