RILEY'S POV
After coming home from school, I dove into my bed and took a nap, but when I woke up, I was surprised to find bags on my bed.

'What the hell is this?' I thought.

I sat up and opened them to find a new pair of heels, a gorgeous dress, and even jewelry. Then, I got out of bed and went downstairs.

"Mom, did you go shopping?" I called.

"No!" She called back.

'Weird.' I thought.

I heard voices coming from the kitchen, so I walked in, then found Donovan and my parents talking and laughing while my mother cooked.

"Morning, Sunshine." Donovan smiled as he turned to me.

"Hey... How long have you been here?" I asked.

"About an hour and a half."

"You didn't hear when he came in?" Dad asked.

"No..."

"You must've been exhausted." Mom said.

"I was. Hey, I found new clothes in my room-"

"Oh yeah, my cousin, Lina, is getting married and I'm bringing you to the wedding." Donovan casually said.

"Wait... You bought those?"

"Yeah." He nervously laughed.

"Let me see." Mom gushed as she ran to my room.

After she left, I looked at him in shock and he smirked.

"What?" He asked.

"How much was that stuff? I couldn't find any receipts or pricetags."

"Don't worry about it."

"Donovan Bowman."

"Riley Reino."

"How much-"

"Don't-"

"But-"

"Worry about it."

"Fine." I sighed.

"It's gorgeous!" Mom screamed.

She ran back out with a huge grin, causing Donovan and I to laugh.

"When's the wedding?" Dad asked.

"Tomorrow night."

I kind of didn't want to go since what Wes told me was still bothering me, but I didn't want my parents to pick up on it.

"I can't wait." I said with a fake smile.

"Let's hang out." Donovan suggested.

"Sure."

After I finished getting ready, we left and when we got in the car I looked out the window.

"What's wrong, Riley? Did I do something?" He questioned for the millionth time.

"Nothing's wrong." I sighed.

"Then why are you acting like this?"

"Acting like what?"

"Like I'm the last person you wanna see."

I rolled my eyes, then he pulled into a parking lot, turned off the engine, then looked at me.

"What did Wes say?"

"Does it matter?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"You didn't start acting like this until you spoke with him. Did... Did something happen with you two?!"

"No! Of course not!"

"Then why are you acting like this?!"

"Why do you care?!"

"Because you're my girlfriend, Riley!"

"Oh, so you remembered?" I bit.

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

"You know exactly what it means."

"No, I don't."

"Whatever, just drop it."

"Ri-"

"Drop it!"

"I hate when you do that." He quietly said.

"Do what?"

"Shut down... You'd rather be mad and ignore me than fix the problem."

"I'm not mad."
