Luke didn't talk to Max as we dropped Max off at the train station to go to Georgia. I understood that Luke felt terrible for yelling at his father, but Max was not connecting the dots.
"Talk to your son. He feels bad for yelling at you," I finally told Max as I gave him a kiss. Max raised his eyebrow as we pulled apart, but nonetheless knelt down to talk to Luke. Syren and Amanda distracted me from their conversation.
"Mama, can we get ice cream?" Amanda asked.
"Of course, we can," I said.
"May we go to the one with the fruit cups? I am trying to stabilise my weight so Alexander can get use to my weight," Syren said.
"Of course," I stated. I knew that I gave into my children far too much, but I couldn't help it. They were all talented in their own ways. I looked over at Luke and Max, and Luke was hugging Max tightly. Luke may have been almost 16, but it was sweet seeing them hug each other. Train whistle blew, and Max stood up straight.
"I love you all so much, but I have a train to catch," Max said. He gave me one final kiss before jumping on the train. Luke stood behind my right shoulder, the opposite of where Max always stood behind me. He put his hand on my shoulder as we waved good bye to the love of my life.

Two weeks later, I was pulling Luke's birthday cake out of the oven. Max wasn't back yet, but he did send a new bat and glove for Luke's birthday since Luke's was getting to small for him. Amanda and Syren were playing with Luke in the living room as I put frosting on the cake.
"Hello Mother," Luke said as I walked into the living room. He was standing so I got to take in his appearance. He was about five foot seven and thin from playing baseball most of his life. His dark hair was slick back, the same way Max did his hair. He was lanky as well, long limbed. He was very impressive, and I knew many young ladies were attracted to him.
"Hello," I said as I sat on the chair.
"Luke has a girlfriend!" Syren yelled, running towards me with his wallet.
"Syren!" Luke yelled as he tried to grab the wallet back, but I was already in my hands. I looked at the picture and smiled. The young lady in his wallet was beautiful. Long hair which looked to be blonde. Clear skin. A beautiful smile. Luke was turning red and looking down.
"She's beautiful. I'm glad that you found someone as beautiful as her," I told him. He stood up straight again.
"She's turning sixteen this year as well. She is following her mother's footsteps and fighting for woman's rights," he told me. His face was still bright red as I slid the picture back in his wallet and handed him his wallet. He put his wallet back into his pocket and looked at his sister. "That wasn't mature, Syren."
"I just thought that Mother would like to know that you have a girlfriend," Syren said. Amanda blew out air.
"I didn't get to see," Amanda said, and Luke laughed as he picked her up.
"One day, understand?" Luke asked. Amanda nodded as Syren gave me a hug.
"Dinner is ready so let's get seated," I said. The girls ran into the kitchen as Luke walked to me.
"Mother," he said as he offered his arm to me. I stood and took his arm.
"I am so proud of you, Luke," I told him. He smiled as he kissed my cheek. The phone rang, and we looked towards it.
"Go to the dinning room. I'll get the phone," Luke said as he let go of my arm. I walked to the dinning room to bring the food out so when Luke joined us, he could just sit and start eating.
"Girls, please just sit down," I said as I brought out the meatloaf that I made out of the kitchen to place it on the table. They sat down in their seats, and I walked back to the living room to get Luke.
"Yes... I know...Thank you again...Yes, I will let you pay for dinner tomorrow...Of course, I am grateful..." Luke was rubbing his temples as he talked and listened.
"Luke, dinner is ready," I said. He looked at me and nodded.
"Listen love, I love you dearly, but my mother just finished the dinner I asked for, and I would a fool if I didn't go to the dinner table and eat her delicious meal... I love you too...I'll see you tomorrow," he said, before hanging up. I smiled at him as he turned around to look at me.
"Was that your girlfriend?" I asked. His face turned red.
"Indeed. She has requested I go to diner with her tomorrow, so she can buy me a birthday dinner," he said. I nodded as he took my arm.
"Well, you better wear your best suit for her," I said.
"She is something special," he said, and we entered the dinning room. "Michael and the guys put us together, actually. She is the team manager for the baseball team. They thought that we should be together, especially since I thought she was cute."
"I'm glad you found someone," I said. He helped sit and then took his seat.
"I'll say grace."
