I woke up around 11 to the smell of breakfast and the sound of Diana yelling angrily in French. I should have went to class for my attendance even though without Diana showing up after 15 minutes the entire class would have gladly walked out on the sub.

"Dites-lui de se dépêcher et de passer par ici avant que l'événement se transforme en funérailles et que je lui enfonce sa carcasse dans son sac de maquillage!"

(Tell her to hurry the fuck up and get over here before the event turns into a funeral and I shove her carcass in her makeup bag!)

She hung up the phone and took a deep breath. "Are you okay Di-" Her head snapped in my direction and I caught myself. "Mistress?" I finished. She raked her hand through her hair. She nodded and sat on the bed next to me.

"So the woman doing our nails, and make up and hair is late. Your mother called you earlier," she said. "Huh ... how?" She smiled and reached into the side table and took out an iPhone X. My eyes went huge. I sat up and she pulled the phone back. "What do you say?" she teased. "Thank you Mistress," I said and she kissed me deep and got up.

We watched the news and how they glorified the event and all the major people who were gonna be there. "Diana Elizabeth, Derek Wynter, Oscar Greene, Miranda Kyles, ..."

"Derek Wynter," I mumbled. "Know him?" Diana asked and I shrugged. "He sounds familiar. Do you know Miranda Kyles?" I asked and she smiled. "Your mother. She also runs a very popular fashion magazine right now and she owns a lot of good real estate. Wonderful women. Quite an icon to many," she said smiling.

We got our nails and hair down , the make up, got the dresses on. Diana picked up the beads of the dresser and my eyes widened. "Just in case you wish to slip out of character," she said popping me on the ass and winking. I went red and she got her security together.

We were in the limo and my nerves were going crazy. Diana was on her iPad and phone. "I really don't want to use the beads to make you relax Ava. You'll be fine," she said and I nodded. "Can I call you Diana?" I asked and she smiled and nodded.

The worst part about these events is the red carpet entrance. The flashing, the reporters, the employees, the fans .. it was all way too much. When we finally got inside Diana was really protective and she couldn't wait to get us to our table. My 'family' sat up front and I was sort of glad not to sit with them. It consisted of my father, my mother, Zachary and his "girlfriend" and my little sister Kyla. Kyla Kyles like really mom? His other ex wives and their children and his current wife and her children. How?!

While the meet and greet and mingle portion of the event was still going on my mother and father finally made their way to the table and I stood and so did Diana. My father was red as ever. "Miss Elizabeth?" my father said shaking her hand. "What business do you two have?" he asked. My mother rolled her eyes. "Some w things never change Oscar. Honestly , go off the both of you! I love the dresses. I saw the red carpet entrance. Murdered it," she said pulling me into a hug and kissing Diana on the cheek and then walked away to greet other people. She was always such a socialite and so bubbly. I could never.

"Your mother and I disagree. I can't stand that dress and that stunt you pulled-" Diana cut him off.

"That wasn't her stunt. That was mine," she said and my face went red as she put her arm around my waist. My father began fuming.

"Veux-tu vraiment me défier?"
(Do you really want to challenge me?)

He narrowed his eyes at her and then he glared at me. "Ava we'll speak about this at a later time," he said sternly like I was a child.

"That's if I'm not busy with her at a later time," she said and I glared at her. He's my father. He walked off fuming. "Diana what the fuck?! That wasn't cool?!" I hissed and she laughed and unraveled the beads. "Di-" She pulled it tight and my air cut off. She pulled me into a forceful hug. "I would end this whole event by letting you pass out before I ever let you think speaking to me like that is going to fly. So to avoid this from happening again tonight. You are not going to speak unless spoken to. Got it?" I nodded and she kissed my forehead, "Breath."
