Diana's POV

I was home in my study when there was a soft knock on the door. Deniska glanced up at me and I glanced at the camera feed.

It was a woman with a hood. "I don't know who that is," I said and she nodded and stood out her seat. She took the pen out my hand and I followed her downstairs to the front door where she instructed me to open the door slowly.

I did so and a small voice cracked, "Diana.." I swung the door open confident in who the stranger was. "Ava!" Even at her weakest her eyes and smile still pulled me from my character. I held her face in my hands and kissed her deep. She kissed back.

"I'm sorry ab-" I made eye contact with her and that stopped her sentence dead in its tracks. "You could be sorry another time but now you need your rest," I said and nudged her in the door. "Meet Deniska, your own private security guard," and Deniska's eyes shot open at the surprise.

"I don't need a se-"

I waved her off and helped her upstairs to our bedroom. She sat on the bed and we stared into each other's eyes for a long moment in silence. "How did you get here?" I asked and she looked around and then mumbled inaudibly. I simply nodded and she cracked a smile. "How long was I... was I out?" she asked.

"Too long," I answered and she bit her lip... "My brother?" she asked. "Better but he's not 100% yet.." She smiled at this and took off her hoody.

She had lost a lot of weight. Her physical form screamed fragile but her eyes screamed something fierce and her voice calm. I couldn't read what was going through her head. "Can I bathe?" she asked and I nodded.

"Do you need h-?"

"You're company? I'd love it," she finished and I smiled as I helped her out of her clothes and ran her bath. I slid her in gently and sat on the edge of tub, going through her hair.

"I heard you... not all the time.. but sometimes. Your voice was more often than others..." she mumbled and I kissed the top of her head.

"I couldn't let you go.." I confessed and her hands rose from the water and laid on top of mine. "A-" She led my hands to her boobs and leaned her head back slowly and allowed her eyes to battle my own.

"Trust me that there's nothing I want more .... and in a time very close to this moment I will enjoy what is mine," I promised and she nodded.

She got out the tub and I dried her off and helped her into some pajamas. "How's Feu Bleu?" she asked and I chuckled.

"You're worried about the wrong things," I said as we got beneath the covers. "You need to rest, and I think I know the perfect place to do that," I said pecking her on the forehead.

"Nothing extravagant. I'm more than comfortable just being here with you," she warned and I smiled at this. Her warn me? She rolled her eyes and rolled over and I secured my arm around her and pulled her into me. "Don't push it," I whispered in her ear and she mumbled something inaudible.

Waking up the next morning was no problem ... leaving her side was. I cancelled all my meetings and refused to do any type of work. I showered and put on some black boy shorts and a black lace bra and left on my robe.

Ava didn't wake until around noon and was shocked to see me. "You're never still around when I wake up," she said and I smiled and pulled her in for a kiss.

"Today is all about you. I know you said nothing extravagant but I was hoping we could get out this town for awhile? Aruba? The Bahamas ... Jamaica?" She smiled wildly and then began laughing.

"What?" I asked confused..

"Leave town? You're asking to leave the country and another thing... since when do you ask me anything?" she asked and I smiled at her.

"I thought I told you not push it," and she stood up. "Can I make small decisions first? Like breakfast?" she said trying to put a simple outfit together.

"You mean lunch?" I scoffed glancing at the time.

"Brunch then! McDonalds?"

"We are so above McDonalds and you know that," I said getting out of bed myself.

"Sooo Wendys?"

I chuckled, "I can settle this one time. Sure."

I walked downstairs to Deniska cleaning her gun and Ava grabbed my arm. I cleared my throat and Deniska looked at me and then Ava. "She should get used to these..." she mumbled before putting the gun back together and her supplies back in her bag.
