Chapter 6: The Past Predicts the Future

Lauren

*2 years later*

I haven’t talked to Niall in two years and I was devastated for one of them but now I have moved on from Niall but I haven’t had another boyfriend since him. I have decided that I don’t need a boy to be happy. I have a new dream that I'm pursuing.

“Hi my name’s Lauren. I am so excited to be auditioning for X-Factor.” I smile.

“How old are you?” Simon Powell asks me

“16” I said.

I can tell that the audience was shocked by my age. I guess you could say I am young but I have faith in my voice.

“What will you be singing for us today?” he asked me.

“‘If I Ain’t got you’ by Alicia Keys” I said.

“Good luck.” He said.

As I begin to sing I hear the audience start to clap. I feel like this is where I belong.

Simon waves his hand in the air to signal for me to stop. I stop singing and smile. They tell me about how I have a nice voice and I thank them. I wish I could have sung longer but I enjoyed the time I had to sing and hopefully I will get to do it again.

As each judge tells me yes I feel like jumping in the air but I keep my clam and smile big and say thank you as I walk off the stage to hug my parents. I can’t believe that I’m getting to pursue my dream.

“I’m sorry to all the people’s names I didn’t call but your journey on X-Factor is over.” Demi Lovato said sadly.

I couldn’t hold back my tears anymore. I let them flow down as I walked off the stage in disappointment. When I got off the stage my mom was waiting for me. I gave her a hug as I sobbed on her shoulder.

“It will be okay.” She said trying to comfort me.

I shook my head and cried, “No it won’t.”

Just as me and my mom were about to leave one of the producers came up to all of us and said, “If I call your name you are wanted back on the stage.”

He called my name and the names of four other girls. I quickly wiped the tears off of my face and headed to the stage with the four other girls.

“We think that you girls are too talented to let go so if you guys can work together we would love to put you together in a group.” Simon said smiling.

Before he can finish me and the other girls are jumping up in the air for joy and hugging one another. I have become a part of a new family. I can’t wait to get to know them all.

After all the preparation  we have finally reached the day were we have to perform as a group live. We have decided to sing “Impossible” by Shontelle. We each take parts singing the song and we sing the chorus together. We sound great and I can’t wait to win this thing.

YESS!!! We made it and we’re closer than I ever thought we could be. We’re all ready to put all of our hearts into this and we plan on making it to the finals. Watch out because here we come.
