Chapter 23: New Us

Lauren

"I can't believe we're doing this."  I said to Harry for about the fifth time.

"It's just pretend." Harry said walking along side of me, "Niall won't be mad and besides it's not like you two are dating."

"True, but I love him and I don't want him to be jealous. He may not have been able to keep his promise but the feelings I have for him didn't just go away." I said causing Harry to stop and step in front of me so that we're face to face.

"It's not like either of us have feelings for one another so he has nothing to be jealous of." Harry smiled, "We are just two friends trying to help one another out."

I couldn't help but think about our kiss. I never thought that I could feel that spark with anyone else but Niall but Harry proved me wrong. I didn't know whether I liked Harry as more than a friend or not but one thing was certain he didn't feel that way about me. Maybe this was a good thing.

"Of course." I smiled, "Let's go and tell them our master plan."

He smiled at me then kissed me on my cheek causing me to blush unwillingly, "We've got this."

I nodded my head and let him lead me to where the others were sitting.

"Where were you guys?" Niall immediately asked.

"Creating babies." Harry joked and everyone but Niall laughed.

I cleared my throat because I knew that Niall was the iceberg to Harry's titanic.

"We ran into this reporter and she was asking me questions about Niall and me." I explained, "I didn't know how to make her believe that nothing was going on between Niall and I so Harry jumped in and sort of told her I have a boyfriend...you with me so far?"

Everyone nodded so I continued, "She asked who was the lucky guy and Harry said he was. She didn't believe us so in order to prove it I kissed him and we decided that in order to get rid of the rumors of Niall and me and Harry and Taylor we would fake date for a while."

Everyone's mouths were open with shock.

"Are you serious?" Niall shouted whispered, "You don't even like him."

"It's not like I could say you were my boyfriend because you still have a girlfriend that you promised me that you would break up with. Harry and I aren't even really dating but if we were you honestly can't blame me. I'm tired of crying over whatever this is we have." I shouted whispered back at him, "You started this the day you cheated on me with Jade. Don't act like any of this is my fault because it's not."

He just sat there speechless and so did everyone else. That's when I noticed that I was crying. I turned around and walked out to get some air. I couldn't take it anymore.

Niall

As she turned around to leave I wanted to follow after her but I knew that it would just draw more attention to us. I just sat there and watched her leave.

She was right when she said that this whole situation was my fault but I wasn't the one who kissed Harry she was. That was unnecessary and uncalled for. I turn to face Harry.

"Why would you say that you were her boyfriend?" I asked him.

"That reporter was practically trying to drown Lauren with the truth. I just didn't want the story of you guys to get out there." Harry said, "She's my friend and I'm going to help her. And besides it's a fake relationship; you honestly don't have to be jealous.  Oh and by the way the first thing in Lauren's head after we decided to fake date was you. She loves you no matter how many times you screw up."
