Chapter 10: Secret
Niall
I still can't believe that I kissed Lauren and she kissed me back. After all these years I was sure that she didn't care for me anymore but after tonight I know that she still cares for me. A *ding* takes me out of my thoughts. I look at my phone and see that Jade texted me.
Jade: How was the rest of the party?
Me: It was good.
Jade: Great. Do you want to come over to my place tomorrow, we can be naughty together? <3
Me: I would love to.
Jade: Great. Come around 7. I'll be waiting.
Me: Okay.
Jade: I love you.
Me: I love you too. Goodnight.
Jade: Goodnight. <3
Even when I'm telling Jade I love her I'm thinking about Lauren. What is wrong with me? I have to shake this feeling. Maybe the only reason I feel this way is because I know Lauren is trying to move on and I don't want her to. I want her to love me. I know it sounds wrong but it's the way I feel.
Not being able to sleep I head to the kitchen to take my mind off of things. In the midst of thinking I hear something from behind me. When I turn around I see Lauren about to turn around.
"You couldn't sleep either?" I asked her causing her to turn around to face me.
"Nope." She said.
She walks over to the refrigerator and opens it and takes out the pitcher of water. She looks so good in her pajamas. I wish that I could hold her tight. This is the first time I have ever seen her legs and arms out. She's really making it hard to resist her.
"Why can't you sleep?" she asked walking over to the sink to get a clean glass.
She seemed cool and collected as if being in the same room didn't affect her at all but it certainly took its toll on me.
"Just thinking." I replied, "You?"
"No reason" she said pouring the water into the glass and taking a sip.
She licked her lips to get the droplets of water off her lips then leaned against the counter. It made me want to kiss her even more. Even if I kissed her a thousand times it wouldn't be enough.
"Do you ever miss us?" I asked getting up out of my seat and walking over to her.
I couldn't hold my urge to kiss her anymore.
"No." she said with a straight face.
"I hope you know that I can still tell when you're lying." I said looking down at her.
"I don't know what you mean." She said looking down at the floor.
"Well if it makes any difference I miss you to." I said causing her to look at me, "I don't know how to tell you this but I think I might still be in love with you."
Finally getting these feelings off my chest makes me feel free. I feel like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders. Before I know it she leans in and kissed me. It was barely a kiss but it made me want her even more than I did before. I pull her in and wrap my arms around her waist and she wraps her arms around my neck. She plays with my hair and I'm surprised that she remembered that I liked when she used to do that. She seem so fragile in my arms but I hold her tighter because the thought of letting her go makes me crazy.
We walk to my room without our lips ever parting. When we get to my room I said, "Stay with me tonight."
"I can't." she said blushing. I could tell that she was flattered by the offer or maybe she didn't think I would ask.
"Please. Just lie down with me. I want to be close to you." I pleaded.
"Okay." she smiled letting me lead her to my bed.
We both faced left and I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her forehead like I used to. She snuggled up against me like she used to. I couldn't think of anyone else I would rather be holding.
"Goodnight" I whispered into her ear.
"Goodnight" she whispered back.
