Chapter 17

With Sandy's sand plane, the four of them each made it to Dragon Island in the nick of time. The plane touched down near where the Vikings were all gathered, trying to escape the Green Death. They ran around everywhere, trying to escape.

"We have to help them!" Merida yelled.

Jack nodded. "You, Sandy, and Punzie go and try to get them to a safe place. I'm going to go and find Hiccup."

All three of them nodded, and ran off. Jack turned back to the Green Death that was munching on one of the Viking ships. He began to fly, searching for Hiccup. Unfortunately, the monstrous dragon noticed him and took a swipe at him. Jack quickly flew around it, sending a small blast of ice at it. It seemed that the dragon didn't like the ice, because it took a step back, and then suddenly crashed into a few of the ships. Taking his chance, Jack flew around it and towards the ships. He stopped suddenly, seeing something.

It was Hiccup, jumping into the water.

Jack quickly flew over, looking in the water for him. After a few seconds, he quickly dived in, and saw him. He was trying to brake out Toothless from a Viking made "Dragon Prison." Suddenly, he stopped, and Jack raced forward, grabbing Hiccup from the back of his collar and dragging him up to the surface. Once out, he dragged Hiccup over to the shore and wasn't surprised to see the water turning to ice.

Hiccup coughed. "J-Jack?" He asked.

Jack smiled. "Hey."

Hiccup smiled back, when his eyes grew wide. "Toothless!" He cried.

Before either of them could do anything, there was the sound of cracking ice and a splash. Both of the boys looked back to the water to see a hole in the ice. They waited for a moment, when suddenly the ice broke again and Toothless popped out with Stoick in his claws. Flapping his wings, he put him down gently next to Hiccup and jumped up on a rock, shaking off water. Then, Toothless looked back at Hiccup, motioning his head to the Green Death.

Hiccup smiled. "You've got it, bud." He said, running over and climbing onto Toothless's back.

"Hiccup!" Stoick suddenly yelled, running forward and taking his son's arm. He sighed. "I'm sorry. F-for everything."

"Me too." Hiccup said.

"You don't have to go up there." Stoick said.

Hiccup smiled. "We're vikings. It's an occupational hazard."

Stoick gave Hiccup a look of pride, and smiled. "I'm proud to call you my son."

Hiccup's smile grew. "Thanks, Dad."

Stoick nodded, and then Hiccup clicked Toothless's tail wing, and they were off in the sky, with Jack following them. "Just like old times?" Jack asked.

"Just like old times," Hiccup said, having Toothless climb into the sky. "Hey, Jack! That thing has wings! Let's see if it can use them!"

Jack nodded, and then Toothless pulled into a deep dive, down to the Green Death with Jack right next to him. Once close enough, Toothless and Jack blasted the Green Death, making it fall to the ground, growling. They both pulled up, flying away a little bit.

"You think that did it?" Hiccup asked, looking back to see the giant dragon start to fly after them. "Well, he can fly!"

"Remind me why I did this!" Jack screamed.

The two of them flew fast, trying to keep away from the giant dragon. Hiccup looked up to see the clouds black in color. "Okay, guys!" He yelled. "Time to disappear!" Both Toothless and Jack nodded, and then they were off, flying up to the top of the clouds. Jack made sure to stick close to Toothless, because he could be seen better.
