Chapter 34: Only Dylan calls me that

Kylie Vergeer (20) and actress Cristy Fox (25) collaborated together in the new collection of Kylie Cosmetics called CRIS X KYLIE. The collection already launched and was sold out within a few hours! We invited Fox and Vergeer to talk more about their successful project!

Hey girls! How are you?
Kylie: I think we're fine!
Cristy: Yes we are!

So, Kylie, you launched your make up brand in 2015 with a range of liquid lipstick kits that instantly sold out and you have since expanded your empire to include concealers, eyeshadow palettes and other lip products! What can you say about this?
Kylie: As much as that makes me proud, I'm not that satisfied yet. I'm focused on Kylie Cosmetics and expanding that worldwide. I would love to be in stores everywhere.

Have you always dreamed of having a make up brand?
Kylie: When i was younger, i didn't have any idea about what I really wanted. My sister [Dorothy Vergeer] has always wanted to become a model and she had all her future planned which wasn't my case! I remember that time I was 15 and I was insecure about my lips, I had really small lips. And it was like one of my first kisses and a guy was like, 'I didn't think you would be a good kisser because you have such small lips.' But I took that really hard. Just when a guy you like says that, I don't know, it just really affected me. I just didn't feel desirable or pretty. I really wanted bigger lips. I would overline my lips with lip liner just to create the illusion of bigger lips. And then finally I was like this lip liner isn't doing it. So i ended up getting my lips done. And that's how I knew I wanted to have my own makeup brand!

Do you like it when people drag you for getting your lips done?
Kylie: No of course I don't [laughs]. People tend to compare me to my sister [Dorothy Vergeer] saying that I'm fake and that she's more natural. You know that kind of sh*t? And seriously I don't think you can allow yourself to hate on someone just because they got their lips done or just plastic surgery in general. If it makes them confident and self-assured, i don't see the point in hating on them I mean it's just... I guess it's just dumb.

Do you agree on this Cristy?
Cristy: Well, to be honest, i don't really agree with Kylie. Loving your body and your beauty is something that should be done without plastic surgery. Getting plastic surgery means that you have insecurities. So it's not really accepting to love your natural beauty.

Kylie, what do you think about your make up brand?
Kylie: Kylie Cosmetics is the most authentic thing I've done in my career, and it really relates to me, and I feel like people can tell that I'm super passionate about it. It came from an insecurity and I turned it into something. I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident. And I feel like people could see that it's authentic to me, and it was organic, and it just worked!

Have you always wanted to collaborate with Cristy?
Kylie: To be honest, i never was into working with people and sharing their opinions. Cristy and I are really close and we have similarities in our sense of style. Plus, i just wanted something original, and Cris is the most original thing ever! [laughs]
Cristy: I was never into make up as Kylie is! But I admit that when she suggested that we collaborate together for a new collection, I just couldn't resist!

What made you decide to name your collection CRIS X KYLIE?
Kylie: Simply because Kylie is my name! [laughs]
Cristy: Cris is my nickname. Not everyone calls me Cris. Only Dylan O'Brien does.

Cristy, do you wear the Kylie Cosmetics products often?
Cristy: Oh yeah I do! I even own some of the velvet lipsticks! The colors are just amazing and can fit every single skin tone!

You two seem to be really close! Are you friends since childhood?
Kylie: No, we met in 2016, and we became friends ever since our first meeting.
Cristy: Since I was friends with Dot then of course I became friends with her young sister!

What is your favorite couple? Peter Moore and Amber Williams or Harry Styles and Dorothy Vergeer?
Kylie: That's hard! Obviously I choose Peter and Amber. Their relationship is just omg the sweetest thing ever! They met in the Dolce & Gabanna runway and ever since then they can't get off of each other!
Cristy: As much as I stan Peter and Amber's relationship. Harry and Dot are definitely the best!
