I really was planning on writing about a dead body on the black market but I just couldn't find any inspiration so sorry

---

"Hellloooo Special Agent Maldonado."

"Hi, Director Koop."

"So, I don't really know what I've got, but I've got something."

"Go on."

"Well, there's blood. A lot of it. And bullets. But no bodies."

"Hospitals been checked?"

"Closest one has been, y'all can do the rest, I guess."

"I'll tell my team."

---

"Buongiorno," I say, walking into where all the guys are located with Avi by my side. It's Friday, so we're at work, but Avi and I didn't have to come in until the afternoon. Obviously, someone, or someones, decided to not let that happen.

"Buongiorno," Mitch replies.

"It's different," I comment absentmindedly, looking around the new layout of the office.

"It is," Scott agrees.

Someone ended up moving the desks up to the offices of team leaders so there's no pathway there, but instead on the other side. They're also pushed together. Luckily, the elevator is very close to our section of the offices.

But now Scott, Mitch, and Kevin are right next to my office. Now I'm sure they'll come and bug me even more.

"The desks were also replaced," Kevin continues. Instead of what used to be the oak desks are now a clean white. I'm sure Scott will manage to cover that in food.

"I can see that," Avi agrees.

"When did this even happen," I wonder, "Oh wait, a case."

"Right, a case," Avi says.

"Basically, there's blood and bullets, but no bodies or people in a hospital."

"Let's go, then," Kevin mutters, grabbing his bag.

---

Once we arrive at the scene, a couple police officers litter the area. Avi flashes his badge, the FBI suits clearly not enough for them. Kevin immediately kneels down and takes a sample of each pool of blood while Scott and Mitch get to work on the bullets. Avi and I head over to talk to whoever seems to be in charge of this.

"Officer Wilder?" Avi asks.

"Yes, Special Agent Maldonado?"

"That would be me, actually," I correct, "What was the report?"

"Well, as you can see, there are no dead bodies. However, we do have lots of blood- many fatal amounts- and bullets. We checked the nearest hospital and nothing. We're leaving the rest to you guys."

Avi and I talk to him a little more before deciding we have enough information, and by then Scott and Mitch have all the bullets the police marked and Kevin has most of the blood sampled. After a little while longer, we all head back to the building.

---

"Have anything?" I ask Kevin, sitting on a table he has for examination in his lab he's not currently using.

"Yes, actually."

"Do tell," I prompt.

"So far I've tested six samples, five of those belonging to different people. Bruno Moretti, Jayla Bennett, Gabriel Perez, Elijah Smith, and Malik Brenton. The second sample is also Bruno Moretti, so he was shot and moved or something?"
