"This killer knew what he was doing," Kevin commented.

"Hell yeah," Avi agreed.

"Well, I'll run what evidence we do have."

"There's not even anything under the fingernails.."

"She wasn't expecting it."

"She was screaming though, that's what the report said. You'd think she would fight back if she was screaming."

"Shock?"

"Possibly."

"Okay, Mitch, Kaplan, I want you to find everything you can possibly find on Jane Doe online. Scott, we'll go interview neighbors and family."

"What time?" Scott asks.

"11," I say, glancing at the clock.

"Yes ma'am," Avi agrees, walking away. Scott and Mitch quickly run up to him, lecturing him.

According to them, I am not ma'am. I am boss.

I like that they're sticking up for me, if you can call it sticking up.

While everyone figures out Jane Doe, I decide to check on Kevin. He and I can work on the killer.

"Kirst! I'm so glad you came, I was about to call you."

"What do you have, Kev?"

"Well, I was examining the body, the gunshot to be more particular, and I found this," he says pointing at the young woman's head.

"A bullet hole? Yeah, I saw that, too."

"No, look at the angle."

"Her killer snuck up on her from the back."

"And, I was just testing the particulates, in fact they should be done." Right as he gets finished talking, we hear a ding.

"Nothing unusual, just a gun," Kevin says, disappointment tracing his voice.

"Killers just love to make it hard on us," I sigh, walking into the elevator.

"Got anything?" I ask the rest of the guys sitting at their desks.

"Yes, actually. Jane Doe was an undercover agent." Kaplan smirks as Scott and Mitch stare in awe as he stands up to present his findings.

"Proof?"

"She didn't have proof of family or a boyfriend, or friends. She was a workaholic."

"Sounds like you're jumping to conclusions, Kaplan."

"I thought that'd be the reason she was assassinated."

"We don't know it's an assassination yet."

"Sorry, Boss."

"Hoying, what's my number 2 rule?"

"Never jump to conclusions, Boss."

"Number 2?" Avi asks.

"Don't lie is number one."

"How many rules are there?"

"Kaplan! Now, do we have anything else?"

A chorus of no's erupt from the silence, aside from clicking on keyboards from other agents.

"Scott, get ready. We're going to go interview soon."

"It's only nine?"

"Takes an hour to get there, if you count coffee."

"So then it'll be ten.."
