Eternal darkness.
Yet, I somehow still managed to see where I was going.
My light feet touched the cold hard surface, but as my feet carried me and my body followed, my footsteps echoed in the seemingly large room.
Where am I?
A sudden bright white light, about a hundred yards away submerges, and under that light, is a woman who's back is facing me.
As I got closer, I recognized that long light brown hair, those subtle but broad shoulders, that dress, that posture.
"Mum" I whisper to myself
"Mum" I call
She stays still, almost as if glued on spot.
I begin fastening my pace and even found myself sprinting towards her.
I suddenly jolt to a stop.
I try to take another step, but I can't. My entire body freezes.
Paralysed.
"MUM!" I shriek
She slowly starts turning around.
"Mum?" I question
Her face was pale. The front of her emerald green floral dress, entirely covered in blood.
Her eyes were so dark they almost disappeared.
"Mum" I call
She starts convulsing before dropping to the floor.
"MUM!" I shriek
My body relaxes and as I make a move to run towards her, I feel rough hands clasp around my ankles and pull me to the ground.
I let out an ear-piercing scream as I'm roughly dragged away.
My mum's petite frame leaving my line of vision in only a few seconds.
I try to jerk my head around to see the face of my attacker, but as soon as they had appeared, they had disappeared.
Leaving me alone, confused and in eternal darkness.
"HELP" I sob
A low deep chuckle coming from behind me startles me.
I get on all fours and abruptly turn around.
"Who's there?" I snap
"Oh, you mean, you don't recognize me?"
"Jackson" I whisper
"The one and only."
"Where is she, Jackson? What did you do to her?" I ask the tremble in my voice highly noticeable.
"Who?" He says
"My mother. Where is she?"
"Oh, she's dead"
"What? I-WHAT? But y-you said_"
"Oh, take a joke. She's fine"
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I growl
"Watch it, princess. You know I hate it when you_"
"WHERE IS SHE, JACKSON?"
Silence.
