A/N: Hello fellow readers! Once again, I want to thank you for the overwhelming support that this book has been receiving in the past year. I'm almost at 100k reads now, which like holy sh*t, is still so unreal to me.

As I looked through my book, I realised that I ended the book with a lot of unanswered questions or what could be considered as plot holes. I've left a lot of information up for interpretation, but I've finally decided to answer those questions, so hope you guys enjoy, and if so make sure to vote!

Why would Marianna's dad--Richard-- sell her in the first place? Couldn't he have sold the house or even his car?

The fact that he decided to sell her in the first place shows just how unhinged he was, and how reliant on drugs he had become, to a point where he couldn't make reasonable nor rational decisions. At that moment, he didn't care about his daughter, he only cared about getting his next fix. And initially, he wasn't planning on selling her indefinitely, but more so as a prostitute, her service being only temporary. He wanted to take her to Jackson, show him a "good time" and hope that his debt would be forgotten. But as we know, that isn't what happened.

When he got to the Kerf residence, he realised the extent of his decision which is why he changed his mind. However, it was too late, because Marianna had already piqued everyone's interest, so there was no way that she'd be let go after that.

Why did Jackson take her in if he claimed that she was worthless?

He made it abundantly clear that he didn't need to pay for women so why on earth would he keep Marianna under hostage in the first place? Simple, he did it to make Richard pay--one of his most loyal customers who was now indebted to him. The primary reason he kept her was to hurt Richard, even though as we come to know it, he kept Richard under hostage as well. Another main reason as to why he kept her was control; simply and utterly. All his life, Jackson has been subjected to a controlling abusive father, and so with Marianna, he saw it as a chance to demonstrate that he finally had control. You might wonder why he would need to control her if he's already the head of the Kerf drug ring and has access to a number of other hostages? Because Marianna is a woman; and to him, women are weak, vulnerable, and easily breakable. He wanted to break someone like his dad broke him when he was a child.

Why did Cookie not help Marianna out?

Despite being his mother, Cookie doesn't have much control over her son. Technically, he is the one who inherited the family drug ring so his decisions are his to make, and his actions don't have consequences. As we saw in the book, she tried to get him to let her go countless times, but he refused, and even went as far as kicking her out of the house. As a mother her influence is boundless, but as a person her influence is meaningless. She has no power when it comes to the business, which is why ultimately she couldn't do anything to help Marianna no matter how much she wanted to.

What happened to Justin? Did he ever get released?

Justin continued to get tortured under Jackson's supervision until he eventually lost his life. He was never released, and Jackson never had any intentions of releasing him in the first place. He kidnapped him not because he wanted to use him as leverage against Marianna, but because he was jealous of him, knowing that he had both Marianna's heart and her trust, something he's never had. Justin died without the conformation or peace of mind that Marianna escaped.

Did Jackson kill Richard?

No. The man he killed in front of Marianna wasn't her dad, and he only did this to torture and torment her psychologically, garnering even more influence and control over her. Later on, we see that Richard is in fact alive and being held hostage. Jackson promises that he'll release Marianna and protect his wife if he killed Justin; once again this was all Jackson just attempting to cause him distress and agony. He lied to him and gave him false hope, to make sure that his last moments alive would be miserable. Eventually, Richard was killed towards the end of the book, when Jackson died and the drug Ring in Chicago fell apart.

Did Marianna's mum really abandon her or was Jackson lying?

Jackson wasn't lying, she really did leave her daughter and her husband behind. Jackson proposed a deal to her; her life over her family's. She chose her own life, and so he released her because ultimately letting her go would cause more torment to Marianna than if he just killed her. Knowing that that betrayal would always stick with Marianna.

Why did Jordan pay 100k for Marianna just to keep her a hostage?

Jordan's reasoning for buying Marianna was to ultimately earn her back her freedom. He knew that he couldn't just buy her then let her go because Jackson was in love with her and would likely go through any lengths to get her back. Under Jordan's care, she would be the safest. His plan was to keep her for a couple of months to a year, long enough for Jackson to forget about her, then let her go while urging her to move states or even countries, as no matter where she would go...Jackson would find her.

Were Jordan and his family also apart of the drug ring business?

Yes, and especially Jordan's father. He was meant to take over for his family after his father either passed or retired, but he decided to leave the business behind and go to Australia to then eventually live with Marianna and build a new life.

Was Jackson ever going to let Marianna go? Was he really in love with her?

Likely not. He was in love with her, although he denied it fervently. Which is why he would've kept her indefinitely if it wasn't for Jordan. Marianna would've probably lived a short miserable life because no matter what you read about cruel gang leaders being changed by their hostage on Wattpad, that's not how it works in real life. Jackson was damaged, violent, unhinged, and irrational at times. He could claim he loved Marianna, but he would still continue to abuse and harm her. He was obsessed with inflicting pain on her, and that was never going to change, regardless of how long they would go on to know each other.

Was Greyson evil? Was he actually going to help her?

That fellow readers will remain a mystery ;)
