I never feared much in my life. Well besides clowns and tight spaces.

Point is, in all my eighteen years of life I've never experienced this level of fear. I wasn't afraid to die. I was afraid of dying without having accomplished my life goals. Most importantly, I was disappointed. I was upset at what could have been but wasn't. In the past few months of being held captive and practically isolated from society, I've learned a lot about myself and others.

Firstly, I've learned to never rely on others and that even those whom you thought you loved will eventually abandon you. Take my father, for example, he traded my life--he's only child's life to a drug dealer for one thousand dollars. How could he do that to me? How could anyone do that to their only child? He ruined my life.

I remember the day Jackson ended his life. How distraught I was. How I blamed myself for falling for Jackson's trap. But now I realize that my father's death was his own doing.

My mother was even worse. She deliberately--willingly left me behind to fend for myself when everything I did was for her. I could have escaped. But I came back for her. But just like dad, she left me. With that monster.

That same monster who beat and raped me repetitively. I was all alone. I was broken. I was lost. And I had no way out.

Until he came along. Jordan was my way out. My escape. But now...I lost him too.

The clock had ticked 6 pm about three minutes ago. And there was no trace of Jordan or Jackson. I doubt Jackson would show up, though. Why would he? He's probably ecstatic at the idea of my demise.

"This is it?" Jordan retorts

We look up at the three-story brick mansion in suspicion before slowly exiting the car. We had made sure to park a few blocks back to stay unnoticed.

"Stay in the car" I tell Puerto

"Oh come on, I can't miss all the action"

"Look, you're our designated driver. We need you" Jordan chimes in

Puerto lets out a huff of frustration before jumping back in his Mercedes.

Jordan and I begin walking towards the house, making sure to stay clear of the guards guarding the front gate's view.

"I hope this works" I hear Jordan mutter under his breath
