Jordan's pov

"Yes. And my initial idea was to start selling further along the coast rather than_"

Jackson is interrupted by a faint knock coming from the door.

All three of us, my father, Jackson and I avert our attention towards the door.

"Yes" Jackson calls

A petite woman enters the room before gently bowing.

"Mr. Kref, my apologies for the tardiness" She says

"Where is she?" Jackson snaps

"Right outside, sir" She says

"Call her in" Jackson says

"Yes,sir" She says before walking out.

A couple of seconds later, the door swings open and a young women steps in.

"You asked for m_"

She locks eyes with me and only then does realization begin to set in.

Is that_

"Marianna?" Jackson snaps

She snaps out of her trance, clears her throat and averts her attention back to Jackson.

"Y-yes" She stutters

"Sit" He says

She sits a couple of feet from me to my left and intertwines her hands on the table.

I tilt my head to the right before slightly smiling.

Marianna's pov

"Marianna, this is Mr.Silk and his son Jordan Silk." Jackson says

I turn to look at Mr.Silk and he was a middle-aged white man with a thinning hairline and already forming wrinkles.

I give him a gentle smile.

"Nice to meet you, Mr.Silk" I politely say

He grins.

"The pleasure is mine" He says

"Jackson, you didn't tell me you had such a beautiful lady at your dismay" He says whilst chuckling

Jackson slightly smiles before clearing his throat and turning to look at me.

"I brought you here to introduce you to them because from now on you'll be seeing a lot more of them." Jackson says

"May I ask why?" I ask

"Mr.Kref is very convincing. In fact so convincing that I just had to accept his offer" Mr.Silk buts in

I'm so lost.

What business are they talking about?

And then it hit me.

" I...you know how I get when I go more than four hours without the stuff. I was desperate, I needed more. I just can't help i_"

Dad.

Jackson was the one who sold a thousand dollars worth of drugs to my father. My now deceased father.

That's his business.

He's....a drug dealer.

I sink back into my chair at a loss for words. I guess I had never really thought about what he did. Even though it seemed pretty obvious. I don't know, maybe because other things have been preoccupying my mind lately.
