Marianna's pov
"Marianna"
I let out a huff before turning on my side.
"Marianna, please wake up"
"Five more minutes, mum" I grunt in frustration
"Please, we have to get you up and ready in ten minutes" The voice insists
I let out an aggravated sigh before slowly letting my eyes flutter open.
A bright light stung my eyes and I quickly closed them back.
"Nope. Too, bright" I say
I feel a light nudge and when I open my eyes again, I see a distraught Maria, standing inches away from my face.
I slowly sit up and put my palm against my forehead.
I was sporting a migraine since I had practically only gotten 3 hours of sleep last night. 4 hours top.
Why?
I haven't been able to sleep since I've gotten here.
Since my almost kiss with Jackson, he's been ghosting me. And I mean completely ghosting. I haven't seen him in a week.
And I know I should be glad, but that means that I haven't been able to see my mother. In an entire week. And that also means that the nightmares have gotten worse.
I constantly worry about her. What they could be doing to her...
What they have done to her.
What they will do to her.
The deal was that, if I come back, he let me see my mother, but it seems he's been avoiding the topic entirely.
Maria waves her hand in front of my face in an attempt to snap me out of my trance.
"Mrs.rodriguez, Mr.Krey is waiting for you" She says
I could tell she was trying to keep the sass and irritation out of her voice.
I squint my eyes at her.
"Why?" I ask
"He didn't say, but we must hurry. He's a very impatient man"
By the way, if you're wondering
"Where's Cookie?"
She left.
I only had her for two days but after that
gone.
Disappeared into thin air. Just like she did the first time. I had an impression that she'd be back, but I didn't exactly know when.
I sigh before nodding and dragging myself out of bed.
I head into the bathroom and scowl at my reflection.
I looked...gross.
I had huge dark circles, my eyes were puffy and red, my hair was all over the place. I literally resembled a grumpy lion that had been awoken from her slumber.
I mean lioness.
I sigh before opening the faucet, cupping the water in my hands, and rinsing my face.
I head over to the shower and open the faucet before stepping under the shower head.
I let out a long sigh when I feel the warm water glide down my body. I lean my head against the wall and let my body relax.
