JIMMY'S POV
I had one more day in Los Angeles until I had to go home.
Drew and I had gotten to spend time together, which I love doing, but all I really wanted was to see Nancy again.
I just couldn't get her off my mind.
I still had her number written on my hand and I didn't want to take it off.
Maybe I should call her. I only have one day left...
No.. Is it too soon?
Maybe I should talk to Drew first.
I walked out of my room and saw Drew sitting at her desk by the window writing down something.
"Hey Drew? Can I talk to you for a second?"
I stood at the end of her desk and looked down at her.
"Yeah.. Hoooold onnn.." She finished writing down whatever she was working on and then looked up at me. "What's up?"
I pulled up a chair next to her desk and sat down.
"I wanna talk to you about Nancy..."
"I so knew it..." She pointed her finger at me and giggled. "You so like her."
"Drew, I don't-"
"Stop! I can totally tell. You don't have to lie to me. I already know."
I couldn't argue with her. It was the truth.
My serious face broke into a smile and I began to blush.
"See? I knew you'd like her. She's awesome."
"Yeah.. She really is... Anyways, she gave me her phone number and since it's my last day... I just... Gosh ok.... I just really want to see her again, Okay?"
"Really?" She set her pen down and took off her reading glasses.
"Yeah... Like, I can't stop thinking about her. I need to see her again."
"Ok!" She immediately picked up her phone off of the table and typed something in.
"What are you doing?"
"Inviting her out to dinner..." She put the phone up to her ear and I impatiently waited.
"Nance! Hey!..... I'm good, hey I was wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner tonight?........ Ok......." She looked up at me and gave me a thumbs up. "Yeah..... Yeah, he's coming. If that's alright with y-..... Sweet! Is an hour ok?.....I'll text you the place... Ok, see you soon." She hung up the phone and smiled at me.
"Boom. Done." She smiled at me, put her glasses back on, and looked back down at her paper.
"Thanks.." I gave her a quick side huh and went to go get ready.
For some reason, I felt like what I was doing was wrong.
I felt like I was somewhat cheating on Valerie. I know that we aren't a couple. We're friends. That makes it okay for me to be interested in other people, right? I still felt weird about it all. She said that she wanted to talk whenever I get back... Must not be that important if she could wait.
I'm going to give this a shot.
Take risks, right?
I threw on a blue striped button down and a white sweater over it. I pulled out my collar so that you could see it and rolled up my sleeves.
I looked so much like a preppy guy tonight, but I liked it.
Drew and I left and I couldn't have been more nervous.
