JIMMY'S POV
When I arrived back to my apartment I immediately ran over to my phone to see if I had any voicemails.
None.
My bedroom was still a mess from when I threw a few things into a bag for when we left to go be with Joe.
I sat down on my bed and looked up to the ceiling.
I could hear our argument replay in my head....
"You told me you'd never let me feel alone."
"Well, You're a big girl. You'll be fine."
God I can't believe I said that to her. I'm such an asshole... I reached over to my phone and dialed her again.
It went straight to voicemail.
"Val... Please call me. I know what I said was really awful and I just feel so bad..." I rolled over on my stomach and held myself up with my elbows. "I don't want you to be upset with me. Just please call me back so we can talk. I hope we're okay...." I cleared my throat. "I love you." I hung up and just stared at my bed frame.
I hope she calls soon. I don't know if I can handle not talking to her for more than a day.
When I first met Val, I just distinctly remember the curious feeling of wanting to know her better. Every time I took her somewhere or we just hung out, I couldn't ever stop listening to her. Even if she wasn't talking. Just taking her in, watching her live life her own way, it inspired me.
That's why we just eventually became best friends.
If it were any other girl that didn't seem like she was interested in dating me, I'd probably just stop talking to her, but with Valerie, she was too special to let go.
I tried to fight the feelings I had for her for a while, but after a long time, I gave up.
You can't help who you fall in love with and for me, there was no turning back.
She was always on my mind.
VALERIE'S POV
I woke up from an all-day nap and somehow woke up with Jimmy still on my mind.
I got up off the couch and walked into the kitchen. I grabbed the last beer out of the fridge and sat down on the couch.
My mom came walking into the living room and took a double take at me.
"What is that?" She pointed to my hand and I looked down.
"Umm.. A beer, I'm legal, incase you don't remember.." I chucked and took another sip.
"Did you get that from the fridge?"
"Yeah, mom... Where else?"
"No!!!!" She screamed so loud I almost spilled the drink all over my lap.
"Mom! What?" She ran into her room and slammed the door shut.
What the hell was that all about?
I set it down on the counter and walked over to her bedroom door.
I could hear her crying inside.
"Mom..." I knocked.
"Go away, Val." She sobbed loudly.
"No mom. Open the door." I banged on it loudly and there was a silence.
I heard the door unlock and open slowly.
Her face was so red and her eyes were filled with tears.
"Mom what's wrong?"
"You took it!" She tried to close the door again but I stuck my foot in it.
