"This is going to be so amazing!" Said Christie. "I know it's crazy we've been planning this trip our whole childhood and here we are, actually doing it" I said.
"It's just going to be us traveling to Paris, no parents and that means plenty of time to have a little tooo much fun" Christie giggled. "CHRISTIE!" I slapped her leg.
Christie has always been the more outgoing of us two. She always has the men begging for her attention. She has basically the perfect complexion with blonde ombré hair. Of course she is the girl almost every guy begs for. I won't lie, I do feel jealous. Like I'm number two in this story of my life. I'm the sidekick.
I'm not what you would call drop dead gorgeous like Christie. I have dark brown hair and blue eyes. A few freckles and that's it's. I'm practically a plane Jane. The only close thing that you can consider pretty is my long curly hair. I can see why guys don't follow me around like they do Christie. Regardless she is my best friend. Even if I envy her beauty.

We both were so excited about our flight and the beginning of a new chapter since we graduated a week ago. Our parents were worried about two 18 year olds going to Paris by themselves, but we wanted to experience the world a little before we had to settle down into the depressing job cycle of life. We are enjoying youth. Our thoughts swirled in our minds making it hard for us to sleep. We gave in and were up early getting ready for our long flight.

Tears poured out of our parents eyes as they saw us off at the airport. We made our goodbyes and rushed to get in our seats. "This is so exciting. It makes me hopeful for our future. I have so many plans, I was thinking we could get an apartment together while in college?" Said Christie. I looked at her as she had a hopeful sparkle in her eye. "Ofcourse we can!" I said excitedly. She smiled and leaned back, "Well I need my beauty rest, plus I took an anxiety pill before we got on the plane and it's kicking in" she said as she yawned. I smiled and looked out the window.
I was honestly kind of disappointed I didn't have the balls to stand up and say no to her. I mean she's my best friend, but all my life she has overshadowed me. It's always about her. I just want a chance to find myself. I want to be on my own and independent.

I open my eyes quickly sitting up not realizing I had fallen asleep. I looked around the plane. "PASSENGERS WE ARE ABOUT TO LAND." I shook Christie awake and she jumped up. We both smiled at eachother knowing this trip was going to change our lives forever.
