I looked at them shocked. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"Listen Olivia, there is more to the story" explained the king.
"About 17 years ago my wife died. At her death bed she told me she wanted Nicholas to have a bride picked for him. After thinking about it, I decided that I would travel to find my sister in the states. That sister being your adopted mother. I knew that she had just went through a the process of officially adopting you. You weren't blood and I knew that choosing you to be the future queen of the vampire world was the best plan. You parents would protect you and your innocence. Even your friend was picked to be your handmaiden or in other words the one who served you and protected you."
"Have you noticed how your parents don't ever go out in the day time. Have you ever wandered why Christie was so careful to pick out the destination for you to travel too?"
I was stunned, it made sense but at the same time I didn't want to believe it.
"Does that mean.. that Christie is still alive?" I asked. King Harold looked at me apologeticly. "Well the event you had attended was our yearly feasting. Christie had made a deal that we would turn her if she would be a servent to you. Unfortunately the vampires didn't know that you two were more than the feast. It was something unexpected" he sighed rubbing his hands through his hair.
I leaned back feel the heat flow into my cheeks. I wanted to scream, to cry. I wanted to run.
"Listen" Harold said.  "Maybe you should rest and eat. Think on this a little. We have meetings to attend and we can make plans to introduce you to the society soon." I opened my mouth then closed it again. I didn't want that! I wanted to go back home. I wanted to curl up in bed and cry.
I followed the young girl out who led me here. Soon enough we was in the room I woke up in. It was beautiful room. Huge. There was another room with a tub in the center of the room. It had a balcony and shandlier. I looked at it in awe. "Madam?" Said the porcelain girl. "What is your name?" I asked. "My name? It's.. Kaitlin" she said. "Would you like me to start a bath for you?"
"That would be lovely.." I said. As soon as she got the bath started I sunk in the tub. She put a milky substance with rose petals all around. It smelled so good. It almost lifted my spirits, but I knew I could never scrub these memories off. I don't even know who I am anymore? What has my life even meant for? I had no independence. I had people who I thought was close to me chose my destiny before I even had the chance too.
A knock interrupted my depressing thoughts. I looked up and Kaitlin was there holding a silk gown. I reached for the fuzzy bath towel and made my way out to slip on the silky gown. It felt so nice against my soft skin. Kaitlin brushed out my hair as I sat at the vanity and pinned it up. I hadn't really looked at my face since all of this had happened. I looked tired and my eyes were puffy. I've never been too much of a crier but I couldn't help letting the tears flow.
After Kaitlin was finished I walked toward my huge canopy bed. I laid down and barely got a thought out before I found myself in deep sleep.
