My Fate

Will You?

Anxiety. That's the only feeling I had. Every memory crept through my mind of that night. Playing back to back.
The doors began to open and Nicholas stood there. We all followed him. I felt the breeze on my face and heard the crickets chirping. It was amazing how much you miss the outside world when you haven't seen it in awhile. We followed Nicholas until he stopped abruptly in front of a old wired gate. "Can I please only have Olivia accompany now?" He made it sound more that I demand than a question. He held out his hand and I took it. As we stepped through the gate the only feeling that I could feel was awe.
Rose bushes lined the little garden. There was a fountain sitting in the middle and off to the corner was a table. Someone had hung lights from the top of the bushes. It was so beautiful. Nicholas turned to look at me, "I told you I was going to take you on a date." My heart fluttered. "This is so beautiful." He smiled, "I'm glad you like it. There's more." He turned on some music and began to lead me into a dance.
We looked at eachother spinning and swaying to the music for a couple of songs. Lost in eachother. Once we had finished he led me to the fountain and sat down. He leaned down and kissed my cheek. Teasing me a little. "I have to tell you something" he said.
"Go on" I breathed heavily.
"We will be married a day after the ball" he leaned back and looked at me.
I shuddered a little. Totally dropping the mood. Pulling me out of my daze. I looked back at his worried eyes and leaned closer. Letting my lips touch his. Sometimes he pulls me in without even trying.
Nicholas pulled away. "I'm not finished."
I huffed, "Go on then."
He stood me up and got down on one knee, "I know this is sudden but Olivia we have to be together whether we like it or not. There is something about you. Something that I've never felt for anyone else. I know it's sudden and unexpected but... let use this opportunity to know eachother and grow together."
Tears sprung to my eyes. This time not from pain or shock, but from joy.
He continued, "Olivia, will you marry me?"

"Yes" I said grabbing his face and kissing him. I don't know where my life is going but I like it. I don't know how I feel about all this, but I love it. I want him. I want Nicholas.
