The Talk

Two weeks have went by pretty quickly. I spent my time with Kaitlin. While Nicholas sat with the other men planning and practicing. Nicholas and I had taken walks and talked about our child's future. Even Nicholas was becoming worried because I looked bigger than how far along the doctor had told me. 5 weeks ago. Due to the unrest at the castle the men couldn't sneak the doctor out. In fact Nicholas is planning on meeting with Gavin. Who has taken claim of the crown after killing the king. I was in shock to find this out. I knew there was something off about him.
Nicholas was sitting at the table talking with another man. I sat next to him, wondering what was going on. "Ah, you made it. I was getting ready to send someone after you. We are going to go talk to Gavin. Convince him to relinquish the crown or kill him."
"What!? Why now!?"
"This is our only time Olivia!" Nicholas looked at me sternly.
"Princess Olivia, we have received news that Gavin is struggling. He can't handle the duty. If we plan and let him go on any longer our society will fall." Said the guard across from us.
"I am Nicholas' cousin." Said the man, "my name is Joshua."
"It's nice to meet you" I said looking away. Kaitlin walked in meeting with us. She sat down and smiled at Joshua. "This is Nicholas' cousin Joshua. Joshua this Kaitlin." I said. They both giggled, "we've already met" Kaitlin said smiling.
Nicholas and Joshua got up and got ready. They walked out of the tent and 2,000 guards were with them. There were still atleast a million here. Nicholas turned around to me and kissed me. "I love you, we will be back."
"I love you too, please hurry." I felt a little sad. I didn't want him to leave. They ran out faster than lightning. We sat at the table waiting. Our nerves shaking us.
I got up pacing back in forth. "I have to see what's going on." I ran out the door until I got to the edge of the woods. Looking off into the fields of flowers. The castle was sitting right there. Ofcourse I couldn't tell what was happening, but I wanted to wait and look out onto the castle.
I heard a rustle in the bushes across from me. I lowered myself down where I couldn't be seen. I seen a tall figure run out. It was Gavin.
"Well, hello." He said smiling ear to ear. "It's nice to see the princess here." I got up and tried to run away, but Gavin was quicker than me. He grabbed me and held me down. I tried to kick him in the groin but he was quicker than me. "I'm just going to save everyone the trouble and kill you" he sneered. He began to press hard on my chests I could feel his hand slowly sinking into my skin. He's gonna kill me. I screamed out! He quickly covered my mouth. "Maybe I should snap your neck instead" before I knew it he weight was off of me and he was on the other side of the field. Nicholas eyes were black. Blacker then I have ever seen them. He grabbed Gavin's jaw and ripped his head off. Gavin stumbled back, Nicholas punched his hand through his chest and grabbed his frozen heart and threw it on the ground. The guards rushed over and began burning his body.
Nicholas ran over to me and picked me up, "I have to get you to safety." He began running to the camp. He set me down in the big tent and pulled me over to the small room. Kaitlin was already in there. "W-what's going on?" She said shaking. "We are sending out men out to fight the other side. You guys will stay in here until it is over. They are trying to get to you Olivia." Nicholas then slipped out and was gone. I leaned back against the wall. Waiting. We huddled together. Too scared to fall asleep. We jumped to every little noise we heard. Praying that it wasn't anyone around to threaten us.
