My Fate

I woke to smell of something delicious. I sat up as my mouth began to water. There was a tray full of fruit, eggs, toast, and even bacon. I hadn't remembered the last time I had ate. My stomach growled. So I quickly took the fork and started shoveling eggs in my mouth.

Once I was finished I walked towards the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. I no longer had puffy eyes. I atleast looked somewhat decent. I heard the door shut to my room and I peaked around the corner to see Kaitlin standing there. "Oh, good your up. And you have ate." I nodded, "What time is it?" I noticed that I must of slept most of the day away. "It's morning for us vampires. It's around 6 in the evening. I'm actually quite surprised you hadn't woken up much earlier. You must have been really tired" she noted. "Well if you don't mind we need to get your dressed as you have another meeting with the King." I sighed. Oh great, something I have been dreading since I left his presence earlier.
Kaitlin quickly zoomed across the room and grabbed a tea length black dress. It was embedded with jewels across the neckline. It was casual but also formal at the same time. As I slipped on the gown she had sat me down and started on my hair and makeup. She pinned up my hair in a more organized up do. With my makeup she had done a subtle look.
Even if I hated being here, I don't think I've felt so pretty. "Excuse me miss as I go get some guards." In a blink of an eye she had left and came back with two guards. I got up to follow them to the library where we had the meeting with the king before.
As we entered the library the two guards bowed. I reluctantly followed. Even if I was angry and frustrated with all of this I wasn't going to be disrespectful towards the king.. I guess. "Ah, I see we are in better spirits this evening. Our goal is to introduce you to society in 3 days time. If the society accepts you and I'm hopeful they will.. you will soon be married to the prince Nicholas" stated the king. "What if I don't want this?" I asked. The king looked at me and sighed. "I'm sure you need to want this. Your parents are vampires and now you know. We can't let you live in the real world knowing. Right now we have been able to live in society without Bering persecuted. We don't want to rewind back to times when our kind struggled." My cheeks began to burn, "Are you saying.."
"Yes, this is life or death" he said sternly.
I felt my heart drop. "So my destiny, my...life has been decided for me" I said softly.
He looked at me, "I know it must be a shock but it has been. You have 3 days to get used to this. If you choose to not want to be involved.. well I sincerely hope you don't. You are a very fond looking girl. It would be a shame..." he mused. I looked at him in shock. "Oh and by the way you can go where you want, but I would advise to walk with guards. Now I have meetings to attend." And in an instant he was gone.
"I.. w-would like to go back to my room" I gasped out. The guards walked with me and as soon as I opened the door I ran to the bed. Gasping for air and the tears stung my cheeks. What the hell! I started punching the pillows.
I heard someone clear their throat and it shocked me out of my crazy rage scene. I looked up and Kaitlin was standing in the door way. I noticed my hair had fallen. I probably looked like a mess. "Would you like dinner served in your room madam?" Kaitlin kindly asked. "Uh... yes" I wiped my cheek. She nodded and left and was back in an instant with a tray. I saw some salad and chicken. I shoveled the food in my mouth not realizing how hungry I was. Once finished I laid back in the bed and started to sob again. What is wrong with me! What the hell is this!? Before I knew it I had fallen in a deep sleep again. Hopefully I can wake up from this horrible nightmare.
