I sat on the edge of my bed in shock. So quick? How? I looked at the doctor and he smiled. "You need to stop feasting on the imitation blood and start feasting on the real blood. We can set up a human slave to make sure that your fed."
"I can't do that. I can't imagine doing that!"
"Don't worry princess, we will have someone drain the human everyday and bring the blood to you. The baby will not grow on imitation blood. You will kill both you and the baby. As of right now this is the next heir and that makes you even more valuable to our kingdom."
"How long will this pregnancy last?"
"Well, it will be a normal 9 month pregnancy. We can set up an appointment and figure out how far along you are. As of right now you are on close monitoring due to you carrying the future heir."
Gavin and Kaitlin were standing outside the door whispering back and forth to each other.
"Please don't tell Nicholas" I said loudly while looking at them. Gavin looked at me a twisted his face, "I'm sorry princess, but I have to. I have a duty."
"PLEASE, Gavin! This is our baby! I want to be the one to tell him!" I said that louder than I should. It was how I felt though. Gavin looked at me with disgust, "I will only give you a week." I glared at him.
"Tomorrow we can get things set up to see how far along you are" Said the doctor.
I twisted to look at him and nodded. "As of now it is best to rest. I'm afraid you are loosing strength. Please try to drink as much blood as possible" he said firmly.
Gavin looked at me, "How will I explain to Prince Nicholas that you aren't in meetings?"
"Well you already told him I'm sick so... just tell him that I'm sick?.."
"That's the thing Olivia! Vampires don't catch a cold or flu. They don't get sick unless there is something seriously wrong like poisoning.."
"Shit" I shook my head. "So I have to tell him sooner than a week?"
"Pretty much" said Gavin.
His phone began to ring, "It's Nicholas." I felt my blood drain from my face. "Hello" said Gavin. "Mhm, no sir she is fine.... mhm...mhm... yes sir.." He shut the phone and looked at me. "What?" I asked. "He is on his way back" said Gavin. "What!? How?" I stood there shocked.
"Well, they defeated the first camp of rebels. But they are coming back to have a huge meeting with another army" Gavin said camly. "Plus, he knows I'm lying." That last part made my heart thud and my head spin. "I'm going to lay down in bed. Please let me be for awhile" I said. Kaitlin and Gavin both left quickly. I laid down and let my head sink in the pillow all of this was making my head pound and the world spin. Or maybe it was the baby growing inside of me? I just want sleep.I woke up to a dark figure standing over me. I could feel their red eyes staring right through me. I began to get up slowly and before I knew it the figure wasn't their anymore. "GUARDS!" I yelled. Two men came piling in. "What's wrong princess?"
"T-there was someone here" I said in between breaths.
"I'm sorry princess, that is impossible we have been posted outside all night."
I laid back down as they left. I tried to close my eyes and sleep but fear coursed through my blood. I couldn't shake the feeling that the person who was here never left.I heard a knock on the door and it was Kaitlin. She came rushing in, "Princess Olivia, the doctor wants to see you this morning." I got up, relieved to be leaving this creepy room. Kaitlin looked at me and gasped. "What?"
"Did you get any sleep?" I looked in the mirror and my bags under my eyes were horrible. "Can you put makeup on this?" I asked. Kaitlin nodded and got to work. She put me in an A-line gown. It was gold with lace at the top. She put my hair up and fixed my makeup making me look 10x better than what I had.
We began to go down the hall, going down an elevator and to my surprise we were in the huge mall looking part of the castle. "This is the commons, it is underground and goes on for miles" said Kaitlin. We began to walk towards a door with the guards. We started to attract attention, people began to stop and look at us.
We turned and went inside another door. We kept walking until we found a room that was decorated in white. "This is a secret room that the queen used for the doctor while pregnant. We will set you up something similar and better. Right now this will do" Said Kaitlin.
I sat down on the exam chair. It was extremely comfy compared to the one you would find in an actual doctors office.
The doctor came rushing in. He stopped and bowed. "Hello princess." He had a little machine in his hand, "If you don't mind we are going to measure you and this can test everything to make sure things are going smoothly."
I laid back relaxing my eyes and he started it up laying it on my stomach. It started making a high pitched beeping noise.
After he was done he wrote down the results. "It looks like you are 6 weeks. Everything looks good. The baby is growing well." He said smiling. "Good" I felt a wave of relief.
We made our way back to the room and I stopped Kaitlin. "Can we plan on making a room that has a bedroom, living room, and bathroom. Something bigger?" I asked. She looked at me a frowned, "The only place that had a room like that is the kings. I can ask to see if we have something bigger?"
"That would be good I guess" I said. I laid on the bed still feeling uneasy.I heard the door handle turn, expecting Nicholas to finally arrive. Instead it was Gavin. He came in with a distressed look on his face. "What's wrong?"
"This is all your fault you half blood!" He shouted with frustration in his voice.
