Chapter 15: Questions Answered

They sat down in a coffee shop about two blocks away from the park they were at. They had Ash with them, who used her magic to fix her makeup. They begged her to change her outfit so that she wouldn't bring attention to them; but she refused.

The four of them each ordered something for breakfast, and a coffee of their choice. It didn't surprise them when Ash ordered a unicorn frappuccino.

"Okay Ash... we have a lot of questions..." Aaron started. "Got it." Ash answered.

"First. Who is your master?"

"A werewolf named Ein... have you heard of him before?"

They wished they could say no, but they knew of Ein all too well.  I knew I saw him at Starlight!  Aaron thought to himself.  They also wished they could say it shocked them at all. But it didn't.

"Ya..." Zane continued, "We know Ein."

Ash almost looked confused that they knew him.  She seemed to be lost in thought for a few seconds before she shrugged it off and looked at the three boys, awaiting her next question.

"How did Ein get your locket?"  Ash didn't really want to answer the question but knew she had to.  The true reason was actually a little embarrassing.  All it really proved is that she failed at being a matchmaker.  

She answered, "I was at Phoenix Drop High, a high school that closed down a few years ago.  I was in the crowd with my mix, looking for potential matches.  After all, high school sweethearts are usually favored by the mix.  Then Ein came up to me and asked if I had a match for him.  I was shocked, he shouldn't of even recognized me as a matchmaker.  I was cloaked.  Not only that, but he knew all about my powers.  He was the alpha at the time and asked if he was meant to be with his female alpha."

Aaron grimaced as he remembered Aphmau and Ein's history.  He liked to forget they were alphas; especially because he was the one who made him alpha.  Then something made him even more furious.  He had this planned for years!  He was controlling Ash for years!  He wondered if Ein's been watching them since day one.

Ash continued, "I used the mix and saw that the female alpha's heart belonged to another, someone who wasn't at the school.  He didn't like that, he thought if the female alpha wasn't in love with him it would cause him to eventually loose his alpha position.  As a matchmaker it was my job to help him come to terms with it, so I told him I'd lead him to his match.  That summer we went on a road trip I guess... once I got a clear image of the girl he was meant to be with he asked to see her.  I handed him the locket and watched as he ran to what I thought was his soul mate.  Instead, he hid my locket.  He came back and it was gone.  He said that the only way I could ever get it back was if I agreed to help him."

Even though Aaron was listening attentively, Zane and Travis looked disgusted.  Travis asked, "Why were you so stupid as to just hand it over to him?"  He spoke harshly, looking at Ash right in the eyes.

Ash looked down just as a waitress arrived with their orders.  None of them touched their food.  They were waiting for Ash to answer the question.  Aaron was looking at Travis as if saying, Why would you say that?  We need her help!  You blew it... she'll never help us now! 

Ash took a sip of her drink and looked up.  She answered, "I don't know.  He looked so happy... you have to understand!  I'm a sucker for romance.  I'm a matchmaker after all!  I saw love in his eyes and when he smiled at me..."

"O. My. Gosh." Their waitress said from behind them.  She had a blonde ponytail with gold hoops and a navy blue waitress uniform.  She obviously had no clue what they were really talking about because she seemed very happy they were even having this conversation.  "Do you like someone?"

Ash looked stunned while the boys looked confused.  She was their waitress yet she was getting all up in their personal business.  

Zane couldn't help but ask, "Why would she like someone?"

The waitress looked at them in disbelief.  "Seriously?  You guys don't see it?"  She groaned in frustration, "Guys never pick up on this stuff!"

"What's that suppose to mean?" Aaron asked.  The waitress answered, "Your friend here is totally crushing on whoever you guys are talking about!"  She flashed her pearly whites then placed her hand on Ash's shoulder.  She then leaned to Ash's ear and whispered, "You got this!" and walked away.

All the boys were staring at Ash with shocked tones on their faces.  Zane whispered-yelled to Ash, "You like Ein?  That's why you've been helping him?"

Ash looked confused and shocked at the same time, "What? No!  He's been holding me hostage!  Can you please ask another question?"  She slouched in her chair and took another sip of her drink.  She looked nervous.  

They all continued to eat as Aaron continued asking questions.

"What did you mean when you said he had you watching us?"

"He used me as a spy.  He needed to make the perfect plan on when, where, and how to take Aphmau.  So he had me watching you guys to figure those out."

"Why did he want Aphmau?"

"Because she was the female alpha.  He was determined to win her over.  Not because he loved her, but because the werewolves had her respect.  It was all part of his plan to become alpha."

"If he just wanted Aph, why did he take Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan?"

"That was all me.  I confess.  As a matchmaker I still felt compelled to help you guys be together even though I was also helping to pull you apart.  After you took away Ein's ears and tail, he was even more obsessed with hurting you.  In turn he hit me, just like he hit Aph at the lodge.  So while I helped get Aphmau, I started to bring Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan closer to Travis and Zane.  As I planned that out I figured I could use the same plan to bring you and Aph together if I made it a little sketchy.  I was tired of listening to him... I wanted to win the council back."

"Then why were you in love with me?"

" After I took them I saw how you were willing to fight to get Aphmau back... I liked that.  I see now I had almost the same twisted reasons Ein did."

"What exactly was your plan to get us together?"

"That I would hide the girls so Ein could get Aph as planned.  Then I started planting clues as to where they were and why they were taken to that place.  I gave you your dreams!  If you found them, fought for them, and won- not only would it be a perfect happy ending but Ein would never know I set you all up.  He would just loose, he could never tie it to me if you fought."

Travis interrupted, "Considering the circumstances that is actually a pretty good plan." "Thanks" Ash said, blushing.  Ash=Player.  Who knows who she likes anymore!?

"Two more questions" Aaron stated.  

"Shoot"

"What do the dreams have to do with why they were taken; and where were they taken?"

"As far as why, you still need to figure that out on your own.  And you know where.  Remember the headaches Aaron?"

Zane and Travis looked at each other.  They remembered Aaron telling them how he's been suffering from a few really bad headaches.  However he never said what was causing them.

Aaron however, looked at Ash in annoyance.

"Seriously?" Aaron asked.  Ash smiled and nodded.  She continued to eat her breakfast and lick her lips.  Yup.  She's still weird.

"They're in the moon?"

Ash laughed so hard she almost fell out of her chair.     

Why was she enjoying this so much?
