Travis didn't know what to do at first. He watched as Katelyn rubbed her eyes; almost as if rubbing the green away from them. At first she succeeded, but then the bright green flickered in her iris, taking over the original blue color.
Travis grabbed her shoulders, "Katelyn... don't worry. I'm gonna take you to Lucinda, she'll know what to do." As Travis began leading Katelyn away from the camp, he called Aaron's name.
Aaron came out from the forest with a pile of twigs and logs in his arms. Once he saw the green in Katelyn's eyes his face flooded with panic and he dropped the kindling he was carrying to the camp. He didn't move at first, just watched Travis begin to lead her away.
Hesitantly, Aaron began to question Travis on the current situation. "Travis? What's going on?"
Travis, face glistening with worry, didn't waste a moment before answering. "I don't know Aaron! I was asking her about what happened to her to see if she could help us find the others but... she... she just wasn't acting like herself and then her eyes turned green. I think she's been under a forever potion for a little while. We need to get her to Lucinda!"
Aaron walked up to Travis, pushing him aside as he looked into Katelyn's eyes. He uttered something under his breath that Travis couldn't interpret. Aaron then pushed some of Katelyn's hair away, giving him a better look at her face.
"Travis, this definitely is a forever potion. The only problem is we have no idea which way Starlight is! Plus the fact it's already getting dark, even if we started now we wouldn't make it before nightfall."
Travis couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was Aaron giving up on Katelyn? If it was Aphmau he would of risked the dangers and did whatever it took.
"What if it was Aphmau?" he asked.
Aaron seemed stunned by his inquiry. At first he didn't know how to answer. It felt like he was wasting valuable time thinking of an answer, like by the time he spoke again they could of saved everyone.
After a few moments, and a deep breath, he answered, "It is Aphmau. Don't you realize that? If Katelyn is under a forever potion, Aphmau most likely is too. At least we found Katelyn so we can begin to help her ourselves, Aph, we still haven't even located her."
"But the potion..."
"...Can go for a few days without settling in. This one's still fresh, she has time."
Travis didn't know to feel sympathy or resentment from his answer. He wanted to understand what he was going through, to feel empathy. He wanted to get the fact that it was true they still haven't found Aphmau yet, and that as far as they were concerned they may never find her. However he also knew that wasn't an option. That Aaron would never give up on looking.
On the other hand he felt a bubbling rage that he had the audacity to even think it was the same thing. Katelyn was under a forever potion for who knows how long. He wasn't an expert in potions, how did he know how long it's been on her? He couldn't. But by the time it was light out again, it could of set in and they would never get her back. At least, not her true self.
Travis, letting his resentment take charge of his words, began screaming at Aaron. "Aaron! You are a werewolf! You could use your hearing, sense of smell, strength, you could get us back in no time!"
Aaron, feeling how hurt Travis was, tried calming him, "Travis, it's not that simple. We were teleported here. For all we know we're not even on the Starlight islands anymore! We could be anywhere in the world!"
Travis wanted to respond but was too grieved by Katelyn being under that spell to even care anymore. Instead he sat on the ground, looking into the dwindling fire. Aaron began adding the logs and twigs to try and help the fire to grow. As he tended to the fire Katelyn sat on the log with her face in her hands.
