The Triple Date Disaster

Chapter 26: Ein's Red Romance

Aaron, Zane, and Travis followed Tatiana to her cave where she lived with all the other wolves.  "I'm sorry explain this again?" Zane said as they tracked through the trees.  It looked different without all the snow, but they welcomed the change.  

"She explained it like 50 times already!"  Travis yelled back in annoyance.  "Two times" Aaron corrected.  "Whatever..." Travis said, "Still, how so you not understand what happened Zane?"

Zane thought of a million things he wanted to say to Travis at that moment, but decided not to make his whole bigger.  He simple didn't get how Tatiana had Ein, or even if she was able to get him from the forest why in the world she would let him live!  That is the part that really didn't make sense.  He just needed to wrap his head around things.

"It's okay," Tatiana stated calmly, as she began to say the story for a third time.  "After Aaron took Ein's power away from him, I sent the wolves after him.  We no longer considered him an alpha, and I watched as my people were killing him.  I was prepared to let him die, but them I remembered what Aaron said.  No one deserves to die.  I wanted to let him suffer just like Aaron had done, so I took him to our cave.  He was badly hurt so I tended his wounds, my plan was to let him go into the woods once he was able to go without his wounds killing him in the night as he slept.  He still hasn't healed enough to be let loose.  Once he's able to take care of himself I'll let him into the woods to find his own way home and finish his life without his power... feeling weak.  Like he did to me."

"I'm sorry you had to go through that Tatiana."  Aaron explained calmly, feeling empathetic for her.  He felt weak his whole life except in a different way.  He felt trapped and powerless against his father keeping him away from everyone.  But that was in the past.

They continued the rest of the walk in silence.  Slowly grieving through the forest and all the memories that came with it.  Eventually they came to where Tatiana lived, and found Ein lying in front of what looked to be fresh embers.  Like the fire had just started to die, just about ready to be nothing but ashes.

Seeing him made Aaron's blood boil, it took everything not to lash out.  He was able to control his eyes for one reason... Ein was the one lying on the floor helpless.  He had no power over them, he wasn't even able to stand by himself.  That was the only thing keeping Aaron from letting his anger get the best of him.

Tatiana left to prepare some food for them all to eat, while she was still away Ein woke up with a yawn.  Man, even his yawns were evil.

Aaron asked Travis and Zane to give him a moment alone with Ein... unsolved issues needed to be talked about.  Most importantly, explanation needed to be made.  He needed answers.

When Ein saw Aaron sitting in front of him, it frightened him.  Ein pretty much knew he was going to die, but he couldn't let Aaron know that.  He snickered.  "Well, well... what are you doing here?  Here to come help take care of me?  Huh... or maybe you're here on Aphmau's behalf... I know she would love to see me."

Aaron didn't respond to his comments.  You could tell he was hurt, usually he seemed a lot more evil.  He looked pathetic, but we like him that way.  

"Don't play dumb Ein!  Where is Aph and the girls?   Where did you send them?"  Aaron questioned, his temper slowly leaking out of him he tried to hold it in, but Ein could see he was getting mad.  

Ein responded, "Aphmau?  I haven't seen her sense the lodge... we never got a proper wedding.  Maybe you will be my best man?  Just kidding I hate you, not best man material.  Plus that would be so awkward!" he sang playfully.

He watched as Aaron got angrier and angrier at his words.  Hid overall goal here was to make him angry, to make his eyes turn red so he could turn him back into a werewolf.  He seemed to have a lot more control over his emotions than he thought he would, so he would just have to push further.
